Agriturismo Monte Criscione In Avola

Siamo stati a pranzo in questo agriturismo scoperto perché attratti dalle recensioni positive che non possiamo che confermare!! Alessandro ci ha subito accolto come se fossimo a casa, Appena siamo entrati il profumo del sugo fatta in casa… un panorama che arriva fino alle mille sfumature del mare. Qui si mangia una cucina tradizionale siciliana rispettando le ricette della nonna e rispettando la stagionalità della materia prima. Risultato TOP!! Grazie ad Alessandro ed alla sua famiglia … torneremo a trovarvi!!!

The location was tranquil set among the citrus groves in the hills above Avola. Nothing was too much trouble for Alessandro to make our stay comfortable. Service was personal and very attentive. The delicios home cooked Sicilian dishes were prepared by Alessandro's parents. The antipasti were superb with a changing menu on each of the 3 nights we stayed. All at a reasonable price including a half liter of the excellent local wine between the two of us. Breakfast was generous and Alessandro made sure he knew what we would like. We were lucky to have stayed at the time of the citrus harvest. The oranges from the farms own orchard were freshly picked and were the best I have ever tasted. Similarly the ripe black olives from the farm's own trees were superb. Highly recommended.

Homemade cuisine like few others left in the area.

We had the pleasure of having lunch at the Monte Criscione farmhouse and we were fully satisfied. The food is excellent, with authentic dishes prepared with fresh, quality ingredients. Each course was a pleasure for the palate! The staff is extremely kind and attentive, making the atmosphere even more pleasant. The view is truly spectacular: you can admire the surrounding greenery and, in the distance, the sea, which gives a touch of magic to the whole experience. The quality-price ratio is also average, which makes everything even more appreciable. We highly recommend this farmhouse to anyone looking for a relaxing and tasty break surrounded by nature!

I was invited to lunch, so I don't know how much everything I'm about to write costs. We start with an aperitif of chips, peanuts, pretzels, and a spritz / glass of slightly muscat white wine. Afterwards, a parade of appetizers of all kinds, from olives to grilled vegetables, soups, ricotta in all forms, platters of cured meats, cold cuts and cheeses. Two first courses: penne with mushrooms on a huge tray, ricotta ravioli with pork sauce. For the second course we chose a dish of pork with sauce. Desserts of the day: strawberry cheesecake, tiramisu, caramel panna cotta, almond blancmange. Obviously, plenty of house red wine, more than discreet. However, at the entrance I read the possibility of choosing two types of menu around 25-30 euros each. The location is not very easy but at the same time it gives that sense of "out of this world" that you want to get when you eat in similar farmhouses.

Incredible homey Italian food with a lovely countryside view. The pasta alla norma might be the best I've ever had!
