The restaurant is located inside the RO and isn't well signposted. The location is nice enough, but its size isn't clear. It seems intended to be intimate and elegant, but during my lunch experience, it wasn't. Perhaps it's different in the evening... My first impression of the dining room and the open kitchen was of disarray. When we were welcomed, we first encountered the bartenders, then a kind gentleman who accompanied us to the interior door to the restaurant. Immediately afterward, we gave our names to the restaurant's receptionist, and from there the maître d' showed us to our table. The welcome was very kind, but perhaps too staggered. Once we were seated, we were served water, bread, oil, and butter. The bread and oil were excellent, the citrus butter very delicate, perhaps too delicate, both in terms of the butter itself and the citrus note. The menu offers interesting and inviting options. What I appreciated most was the street food section, with its appetizers, and I would have liked to try almost all of them. In the end, I opted for the Lobster Roll. The bread was fresh and very good. The lobster was the right amount for the price and, above all, good quality. It wasn't overpowered by the other ingredients, despite their strong character. In fact, I really appreciated the pairing with the marinated/sweet and sour red onion. For my appetizer, I tried the warm seafood salad. The fish was good, both in terms of cooking and quality. The lemon emulsion that tied everything together was delicious. What I wasn't happy with about this dish were the potatoes, which were too floury on the palate. For my first course, I shared the Nerano and the spaghetti "O Re del Mare" with my companion. One word for the Nerano: PERFECT, truly compliments. The other first course was truly good, especially the Iranian caviar served at the table. Perhaps I would have removed this last step, which would have enhanced the idea of the opulence of the dish, but the way it was executed diminished its elegance. For my second course, I had the grilled fish with seasonal side dishes. They served me a high-quality, fresh Amberjack steak and grilled cabbage. I put it in quotation marks because it tasted more like sautéed than grilled cabbage, due to the abundant oil used both in the cooking and raw portions. I actually left the side dish on the plate. For dessert, I had the Tiramisu, which was very good, especially the caramel and balsamic vinegar sauce served at the table, while my companion had the Luna di Miele, which I didn't try but was beautifully presented. Finally, I had a good coffee and a small pastry, some miniature pastries with peanuts, coffee, chocolate, and caramel as the main ingredients. They were good, but I wasn't sure if they were artisanal or not. As for the wines, I wasn't entirely satisfied with the overall experience. I was looking for Prosecco, but they didn't have any, and they didn't even have a very good alternative to satisfy me, unless I'd ordered Champagne. But since I was the only one drinking and I usually order Champagne by the bottle, I don't prefer it by the glass. I opted for just one glass of Berlucchi, no more, because I'm not a big fan of it. Furthermore, when the sommelier asked me if I'd like another glass, he did so behind my back, whispering in my ear, in an unprofessional manner. The dining room service wasn't impeccable. The explanation of the dishes didn't live up to the food itself, and the techniques weren't very elegant for the context. The bread replacement was attentive, but the water replacement was less so—careful, yes, but "too much." They tried to take away the bottle with two glasses of water still inside. Overall, I didn't leave dissatisfied; on the contrary, I had much higher standards. The quality/price ratio was just about right. I mean, it's worth trying for once, but I don't know if it's worth returning. In my opinion, they should aim to raise the bar, get that little bit more attention needed to become a top player again. See you next time, maybe.
