'A Taverna Dò Rè In Napoli

We were there yesterday afternoon for a quick bite. The fish antipasto was delicious, as was the tomato bruschetta. The chef was very friendly, as were his wife and the staff. We highly recommend this restaurant, and anyone who gives this place a truly negative review should avoid Naples. Neapolitans are a breed of their own, and their friendliness is hard to beat, true to the motto "you can cry like a bird in a tad..."

The food is fantastic and the service is superb. They offer typical Napolitano cuisine at a reasonable price. Very close to the water for a nice stroll afterwards. .

We visited this tavern on the recommendation of our B&B host. The food was truly excellent; we ordered spaghetti alle vongole and pasta with tomato sauce. The pasta with meatballs in tomato sauce seemed unusual; the sauce was too rich and thick, perhaps it's some kind of special sauce they make. However, the pasta was cooked to the perfect consistency. The only issue was the service, if you can call it that. The staff was very slow and seemed tired, especially towards us (it was Monday evening). The food arrived quickly. But when we asked for the bill, it was as if we were invisible. It took 15 minutes, if not longer, to get it. We repeatedly reminded them about it. When they brought the bill, which was around 50 euros, they also brought a piece of paper on which they themselves (!) wrote down a tip of 20 (!) euros, as if it were for card payments. Va beh, we put down the cash and left, wondering for a long time what just happened?! They probably took so long to get the bill because they were wondering how much to tip. Although, that's up to the customer. It's a shame the service is so poor, even considering we came on the recommendation of their friends. It's especially unfortunate given such delicious food.

The onion pizza was EXCELLENT and surpassed all expectations for Napoli pizza. What a hidden gem.

The best pasta with meat sauce I ever had

Mangiato bene, una pasta alla genovese ottima, come le bruschette al pomodoro e l'impiegata di cozze. Buona anche l'orata al forno El la pizza con la bufala. Servizio cordiale e simpaticissimo.
