A La Vecia Papussa In Venezia

We went here for dinner on a Saturday evening. We had a great time; the staff was courteous and friendly. The place isn't touristy, and the prices are in line with those in Venice, so they're moderately high: we paid €96 for an appetizer for two, two main courses, and a glass of wine. The price also included an entree and cookies for dessert. I recommend it.

We visited Vacia Cavana this February and honestly… we are still thinking about it. It wasn’t just dinner — it was an experience we’ll remember for a long time. From the first moment we walked in, we felt truly welcomed. There was something so authentic and warm about this place. The food? Absolutely incredible. The salmon was one of the best I’ve ever tasted — full of flavour, simply outstanding. The mixed fish plate was amazing as well, beautifully presented and fresh in every single bite. You can really feel the passion and attention to detail in every dish. And Christiano… what a wonderful waiter. He made us feel special, comfortable, and completely taken care of. His kindness, professionalism, and positive energy added so much to the whole evening. It’s rare to meet someone who genuinely loves what they do — and it shows. It was worth every penny, and more. If we return to Venice, this will be our first reservation without hesitation. 💛

Perfect food. Super fresh fish. The pasta smells of mushrooms, and there are plenty of them. The price is good. Perfect service. A big compliment to the owner.

Beautiful cozy space with a pianist creating a lovely vibe for folks. Their ginger beverage was a good non-alcoholic alternative. I had the lamb chops and it was a good meal. The artichoke appetizer was a pleasant surprise.

Gorgeous place! Welcoming and clean atmosphere, even with a live pianist! The staff is very knowledgeable and helpful, and the food is exquisite and delicious! As soon as we arrived, they served us a complimentary house special (salmon and a non-alcoholic cocktail), followed by a variety of super-delicious dishes! Highly recommended!

Warm, welcoming location, brought back from other times, pleasant atmosphere with piano music! Very good team with special people! The surprise was to meet a special Romanian - Nicolae, a good professional who also kept us company! The food, the wine, the service, all superlative! Two wonderful evenings spent there! An excellent, traditional Venetian restaurant, definitely a wonderful discovery. The service is top-notch: upon entry, they fix your jacket, and a welcome aperitif awaits, with butter, bread, and crostini. We split a portion of sardines in saor and two first courses. Everything was delicious, with the pasta creamy and featuring a lot of seafood. The price is certainly a bit high compared to most places (€105 including wine and coffee), but I must also say that in Venice these days, it's impossible to eat this well at a—pardon the expression—"fair" price. Regardless, I highly recommend this place for its retro ambience and attentive customer service. The dessert trolley is also wonderful.
