The best Brazilian restaurant in Puglia, Basilicata, and Calabria. Excellent meat, excellent service, and a friendly, family atmosphere—it feels like you're truly in Brazil for a few hours. Highly recommended.

I had lunch at A Barraca and had an extremely positive experience, from every perspective. It's a restaurant that impresses not only with its traditional Brazilian cuisine, but also with the lively and authentic atmosphere it creates. The dishes are all excellent, rich in flavor and true to tradition: there wasn't a single course I didn't enjoy. Besides the food, the typical Brazilian drinks are also worth a mention, perfectly complementing the gastronomic experience. The prices are absolutely fair and consistent with what's offered, both in terms of quality and quantity. The restaurant is very large, spacious, and well-organized, making it ideal for families and groups. I was with my family, accompanied by a Brazilian who recommended this place to me: thanks to her, the experience was even more immersive, because I was able to speak Portuguese, both with her and directly with the owners, making everything even more authentic and engaging. The staff is cheerful, lively, and welcoming, and the presence of Angelo, the owner, a former Serie A and Serie B soccer player, is palpable: he's a charismatic figure, capable of conveying passion and energy. The restaurant is meticulously designed, with traditional Brazilian furnishings and music that constantly evoke Brazil and contribute to a festive atmosphere. A restaurant that stays with you, not only for the delicious food, but for the warmth, the joy, and the authenticity of the experience. Highly recommended. 🇧🇷 🍽️ 🎶

We spent a wonderful day (there were 10 of us) at the A Barraca churrascaria. The Brazilian atmosphere captivated us, with its background music and the friendly owner Angelo, who made us feel like family. The food was delicious and plentiful, as we chose the all-you-can-eat option. We thoroughly enjoyed everything and will definitely return. Highly recommended for anyone in Matera looking for a fun-filled day of fun and good food.

Exceptional... A trip to Brazil...

I've been back a third time because I've always had a great time. The place is often packed (even with Brazilians, which I think is a sign of respect for the original cuisine), so you need to book in advance. You can get there at 1:00 PM for Sunday lunch, and I always get a sense of positive energy thanks to their welcoming attitude and smiles. I recommend skimping on the buffet to make room for the meat, which reigns supreme: I found the meat less salty than in the past, which is more in tune with our palate. It's truly excellent (especially the picana)! The place is colorful and makes you want to visit Brazil, thanks in part to the cheerful and friendly service. The only downside: the 300ml South American lager is listed at €3 on the table menu and is sold at €5 at the counter. Otherwise, everything is in line with the quantity/quality of the food, the cleanliness of the premises, and the kindness of the staff. Good luck, Angelo (and his staff), see you next time!
