A truly superb place in the center of Trieste. From breakfast to dinner, it's very versatile, with good food and excellent service. When it's crowded, the wait can be a bit long, but overall the atmosphere is pleasant. It's one of the few places in Trieste that's open 7 days a week, from early morning to late at night.

I was really pleased with this place: the food is excellent, carefully prepared using quality ingredients. The staff is knowledgeable, friendly, and always attentive to their customers' needs. A pleasant experience from start to finish. Highly recommended!

Stopped in on a very cold day!!! Made my husband the best Old Fashioned he’s had in Europe lol. Quaint, quiet and friendly! Loved it!

For a coffee, an aperitif, or a sunny lunch, 040 Social Food is always an excellent choice! Quality food, with excellent gluten-free options for those who need it. The service is impeccable: friendly, attentive, and fast. Plus, the place is in a stunning location and every detail is taken care of. I'll definitely be back!

Siamo stati in questo locale per un pranzo veloce. Si trova propruo lungo il canal grande. Cibo nella media come anche i prezzi. Servizio cordiale.

Questo posto è stato una vera delusione, lo spritz Hugo era solo acqua, la cameriera molto gentile ci ha servito bene e ci ha detto che avremo avuto qualcosa da stuzzicare, ma non è mai arrivato nulla. Abbiamo ordinato delle patatine fritte ed erano immangiabili. Per finire il bagno era sporco. Peccato perché nella posizione in cui si trova sarebbe ideale trovare qualità e buon cibo.

27/08/2025: We arrived slightly late for lunch service after a visit to the civic museum. It's a bit off the beaten track, but well worth it. Good food, good atmosphere, and lovely service.

15/11/2025: This evening we had a wonderful dinner at a fair price!!! We highly recommend it!! Unfortunately, the out-of-the-way location and lack of a clearly visible sign, in my opinion, penalize it!!!
21/10/2025: An unexpected lunch stop on a holiday. The first course, a mille-feuille with cod and arugula, was spectacular but bland; the dessert, on the other hand, was tasty but parsnip, unlike the rather hefty bill. A quarter of the house white wine was €8. An unforgettable experience.
