23/03/2024: Stopped here for water and avy bag and beacon check with maestro alpine guide CG, the views on the sun deck are magnificent. Lots of tourists come up here on the Gondola Sass Pordoi from Passo Pordoi. You ride above the fantastic couloir Forcella Pordoi which opens up onto this steep wide slope ending at Passo Pordoi or the road. The tourists download via the Gondola. See pic, folks from the plains having fun with music, beer, vapes, and guitars on the plateau but that’s as far as they can go, only off piste couloirs thereafter where you see skiers headed. There are no pistes up here, all backcountry chutes and canyons ie off piste extreme terrain, all require navigating a couloir at some point. Nothing easy, some are easier up top and extremely hairy in the exit, others are hairy in entry & easier exit and just everything is gnarly. Need an alpine guide who knows the terrain and avalanche bag is mandatory, playing with your life unnecessarily if without one.

08/03/2024: Unfortunately it was snowing, otherwise you can enjoy the beautiful view there. The food is delicious and inexpensive. I ordered the risotto with green apple, it tastes interesting but good! The Schlutzkrapfen with spinach filling is highly recommended. Spaetzle and polenta are local specialties.

27/03/2024: A dinner with friends, at one end of the dining room, occupying two tables, with many compliments on the different dishes and with excellent service from the waiter. I recommend calling ahead to make a reservation to ensure it is open. Desserts include Catalan cream.

03/04/2024: Very nice hotel located a few km from Canazei, but in a strategic position: a few meters away are 2 cable cars that take you to one side under the Sassolungo, Sassopiatto. on the other, on the Sella group where numerous very beautiful excursions start. Pay attention to the opening times, they close around 5pm. The owner, her husband and all the staff are friendly and very helpful. Good and plentiful breakfast and dinner: despite the 3 choices, it is possible to change the menu with something else that the children might like. Very careful about intolerances, my wife has celiac disease. The buffet starters were excellent. The restaurant is also open at midday and we took advantage of it twice: excellent. The rooms are made up daily. Dogs of all sizes are accepted: obviously they cannot go to the indoor restaurant. In case of good weather they also have tables outside. We have never used it, but under the hotel there is the bus stop for Canazei and the Pordoi pass. If we were to decide to return next year, I would choose it again. I forgot, they have a SPA: having children we only used the swimming pool with hydromassage jets: due to covid regulations only 1 hour per room per day and 8 people at a time. Returned in July 2023: everything reconfirmed, everything perfect.. Keep it up

01/04/2024: End of March and still lots of beautiful snow… Quick self-service lunch between one ski trip and another, there are also toasties, sandwiches and cakes for those who don't want to queue and eat something quickly. Good service and good food.
