Terrible experience: total disorganization, ridiculous portions, and an exorbitant bill
We visited this restaurant on Saturday evening in a group of 10. Having a sports commitment at 9:00 PM, we arrived at 8:00 PM, immediately specifying that we needed a quick dinner. The owner assured us there wouldn't be any problems, but then got lost in a 10-minute chat with her friends, forcing us to sit at the table alone.
From that moment on, the chaos began:
1- Interminable wait: The drinks arrived after over a quarter of an hour. Despite our obvious rush and constant reminders, no one came to take our food order.
2- Minimal portions and panic in the dining room: To make things easier for the kitchen, we all ordered the same first course (shrimp and pistachio paccheri) and some fried food with chips to share (one portion for every two people). Despite the super-simplified order, the owner went into a complete panic, constantly complaining to us. At 9:00 PM (the time we were supposed to leave), the first course arrived: literally six paccheri, counted on the plate.
3- Disrespect and lies: Given the hour, we asked for the fried food to be brought only if it was ready to go, otherwise we would have canceled. The owner insisted, saying it was ready and started scolding us that "we should have taken our time." At 9:15 PM, the fried food was still nowhere to be found.
4- Chaos over the bill: We decided to get up to pay and leave. Handling the bill was embarrassing: the lady didn't know how to use the device, was excruciatingly slow, and started accusing us (sometimes in a loud voice) that one of us hadn't paid, even though we had all the receipts in hand (in fact, there was even an extra receipt!).
We only managed to escape the restaurant at 9:30 PM, furious and with empty stomachs. All for the "modest" sum of €47.11 each (paid down to the last cent, without the slightest hint of a discount for the inconvenience) for eating 6 paccheri, half a portion of bagged fried food while we were running out, and sharing two bottles of wine between 10 people.
Mediocre food, terrible service, a complete inability to manage the crowd, and zero respect for the customer. Highly discouraged; we'll never set foot there again.

18/04/2026: We only ate at the restaurant: excellent. Not many options, but the quality was excellent, or at least good. The first course (pici) was heartwarming, as were the liver crostini. Reasonable prices for the quality.

10/06/2026: We discovered this great restaurant thanks to the reviews. So, if you're passing through Orbetello, a stop at Nico's is a must. A restaurant with a capital R, starting with the welcome... a lot of attention to detail.
A varied menu with dishes that far exceed expectations.
There's not much to say... octopus... linguine with clams, bottarga, and a sprinkling of lemon with a creamy sauce that forces you to mop up the plate and polish it off... fresh octopus, etc., I could write a book about it 😂😂😂😂😂... We'll be back very soon and I recommend you do the same... for us, Orbetello = Nico's Restaurant. The rest, ummmmm, come and enjoy what the staff offers you.
03/06/2026: Booked for two at 9:30 PM on a pre-holiday. Nice place with indoor and outdoor seating, professional staff, an appetizer, two pizzas, water, half a liter of house wine, bread, and table service. It cost about €35. I wouldn't return, both for the quality of the food and for the comment after I posted. I'm also glad I put the manager in a good mood. Laughter is good for your health.

05/04/2026: The place seems unwelcoming. However, I'd like to point out the excellent music selection curated by the manager. The appetizers are delicious, featuring supplì (remarkable) and bruschetta (which needs revisiting). The pizzas are crunchy and very thin. At first glance, they're good. Overall rating: excellent. Best restaurant in Albinia, hands down.
20/01/2026: I grew up partly in Maremma, and my family and I have been frequenting this pizzeria since the dawn of time...
It's definitely a bit basic, but I highly recommend the pizzas! You have to like the thin crust; I personally find them very tasty and, above all, really easy to digest, which is difficult these days—they almost taste like piadinas. Good prices, recommended for a casual pizza dinner with friends!

29/09/2025: A restaurant inside a campsite. I booked using the TheFork app, but even though it was still summer, they gave me a table inside. The food was good but nothing special, especially considering the amount ordered (an appetizer for two, a first course, a fried dish, water, and house wine) and the 20% discount. Honestly, I wouldn't go back.

06/08/2025: At ikke denne restauranten har fått bedre anmeldelser får meg til å lure. Vi måtte dog vente en stund på maten de gangene vi var der, men når den kom så smakte det utsøkt. Vi bestilte både sjømat, biff og pizza i løpet av oppholdet vårt, og vi skal definitivt bestille det igjen! Sjømaten og pizzaen var helt nydelig. Den ene dagen var det også underholdning av en gammeldags klovn på Toreg rett ved siden av - det ga et ekstra kult preg til besøket! Veldig stemningssettenye underholdning og flott show
04/08/2025: Se cercate un ristorante con una vista da cartolina che vi faccia dimenticare di mangiare bene, La Scesa è il vostro posto ideale.
L’oste ci accoglie con quell’aria da “so tutto io” e, quando chiediamo di sederci comodi a un tavolo da otto (eravamo in quattro, mica un esercito), ci piazza vicino a una pianta super appuntita. Per chi ama il brivido del “pungiglione a sorpresa” mentre mastica, è un’esperienza unica.
Ordiniamo pappardelle al cinghiale e paccheri, ma sorpresa! Finite entrambe le paste. Ci viene data come alternativa una pasta diversa, tipo spaghetti al posto delle pappardelle, che diciamolo, non è proprio la stessa esperienza. Nessuna comunicazione preventiva, nessuna proposta decente: quando faccio notare con ironia, il cameriere risponde sminuendo la situazione.
Momento cult della serata: il cameriere porta il mio piatto e, invece di dire “pappardelle al cinghiale”, annuncia “tipo terra”. Buttando l’occhio ho capito che fosse per me. Nome creativo, ma poco invitante.
Faccio il primo boccone e se il cinghiale fosse un supereroe, qui è una povera comparsa nascosta che non sa di niente e fa solo da contorno alla cornice e sapeva di carne macinata generica, forse l’avevano scambiata per polpettine da mensa.
Gli altri puntano su una frittura di calamari… in quantità ridotta, accompagnata da lime. Sì, lime. Quel frutto che dovrebbe esaltare i sapori, ma qui ha fatto il lavoro opposto: ha coperto tutto, come una diva che ruba la scena.
Sul fronte servizio, lavorando anche io nella ristorazione faccio un applauso alle scelte: portare i bicchieri senza vassoi e, peggio ancora, appoggiare il vassoio sul tavolo. Per i non addetti, è un po’ come portare un piatto di spaghetti e buttarli sul pavimento con stile.
Morale? Se volete una vista da urlo e siete pronti a digiunare o a mangiare roba da fast food mascherata da gourmet, La Scesa fa per voi. Se invece cercate cibo che meriti il viaggio, cercate altrove.

01/06/2025: Davvero scadente. Tutto scadente e con prezzi non appropriati a quanto offerto.
Tavoli all'esterno sporchi, con cacche non levate e moschini anche all'interno dei bicchieri.
Un po' di cura in più quando un cliente ti fa notare che è sporco e non minimizzare dicendo che i tavoli sono all'aperto!
Pessima esperienza.
01/06/2025: Gran restaurante con una familia trabajadora! Nos comieron 2 noches, porque los trabajadores amables, el interior viejo, pero cálido en por supuesto la gran comida por un buen precio. La primera cena, comimos pizza y el filete, especialmente la pizza era genial, recién salido de la estufa de madera frente a nuestra mesa. La segunda cena, comimos mariscos, los mejillones y espaguetis, que eran de buen gusto y genial de nuevo. ¡Recomendado para una visita!

26/12/2023: Ambiente caratteristico e piacevole, ma non molto grande e molto affollato. BISOGNA PRENOTARE, anche in bassa stagione. Pur avendo prenotato abbiamo aspettato dieci minuti e ci è stato dato un tavolo attaccato alla porta, dietro un paravento che avrebbe dovuto fungere da protezione per il freddo ogni volta che la porta del locale veniva aperta dagli avventori in entrata o in uscita, molti dei quali non sono abituati a chiuderla dopo essere passati…. Insieme ai vicini di tavolo abbiamo quindi dovuto alzarci a turno per chiuderla.
A parte questa disavventura la pizza era buona e così le alici fritte e la birra alla spina. Torneremo per provare la cucina se ci verrà assegnato un tavolo lontano dalla porta! Servizio attento e veloce.
