27/02/2026: An authentic Marche excellence in the hills of Mombaroccio. We visited Piccolo Mondo, and the welcome from Romano and his staff was impeccable from the first moment. Their strong point is undoubtedly the raw materials: many of the produce comes directly from their farm. We tried many traditional dishes, such as the excellent millefeuille, the superb tagliatelle with duck ragù from their own farm, the tasty cappelletti in capon broth, the fabulous pasticciata alla mombaroccese, and more, all accompanied by an excellent selection of regional wines. The atmosphere was convivial and the portions generous. The quality was truly excellent value for money. As the Pesaro and Urbino Delegation of the Italian Academy of Cuisine, the "Silver Plate" award was presented to its patron Romano Lorenzi, with the following motivation: "With tireless dedication, Romano and Annalisa have elevated the concept of hospitality to a true art form, preserving the ancestral bond between land and table. Through the expert use of excellent raw materials—sourced from their own farm and cultivated according to the harmonious rhythms of nature—Il Piccolo Mondo masterfully interprets a timeless tradition, ennobling ancient flavors with a contemporary sensibility.
For the supreme quality, the philological consistency of its preparations, and the ability to express, through every course, the profound and generous soul of Mombaroccio, the Italian Academy of Cuisine honorably awards the Silver Plate, a symbol of excellence that honors the Civilization of the Table and the cultural identity of our nation."
