03/05/2026: After several years, we decided to return for dinner here, leaving from Modena, because we remembered the fantastic scialatielli allo scoglio. We asked if they'd bring us a white stria, and they told us they don't make them for takeout (half an hour later, they did, and even on the go, for the regular customer next to us). When we asked for a quarter of still white wine, they told us they only have a slightly sparkling one; in reality, it was very bubbly. We ordered an appetizer to share, a fried dish, and the scialatielli. Mussel and clam sauté: mushy mussels, eight clams, a completely flavorless broth, and the distinct impression of microwave cooking (cold shells on the outside of the plate and hot on the inside). The fried food was searing and flavorless, soft, and greasy. Scialatelli topped with the same mussels as the soute, ditto clams, three or four tiny, dried-out pieces of calamari, two boiled shrimp, and the scallops hidden under the two shrimp because they were embarrassed to have been placed on the plate without any seasoning or flavor, miniature shrimp whose shells you couldn't even pray to remove. Flavorless scialatielli. We left at least half the food on our plate, and strangely, they didn't ask us why or if we wanted to take it home. Not satisfied, we ordered two mascarpone cheeses, which were not bad considering they were clearly mass-produced. Adding a bottle of water and a coffee, the bill came to 80 euros. The place was packed and the pizzas were delicious. Was it our mistake to order fish? We would have done better to cherish the memory of those fantastic scialatielli...
