09/06/2025: There is nothing to say about this place, it goes beyond.
The customer is carried in the palm of a hand by all the staff, as well as welcomed and guided with delicacy and professionalism.
A fine menu, quality/price ratio above all expectations and an elegant location that does not make you feel uncomfortable.
In the Michelin guide for several years, but it has nothing less than many starred.
05/06/2025: We had dinner for four and the general opinion was very positive, the tasting menu is varied and allows you to taste various excellent fish dishes. The owner and the staff are very kind and friendly.

27/05/2025: The first courses were excellent, the fried food was out of this world and plentiful!!
That said, the service was really slow, sitting at the table for 25 minutes before finally having a glass of wine, they wouldn't even give it to us when we asked.... incredible.
This was by the owner's will, who only serves him and strictly in order of arrival. The owner is still nice and welcoming, nothing to say, but.... come on...
We were 4 of us and we tasted a few appetizers... 3 first courses and fried food.
Special dishes, well-prepared, cacio pepe and shrimp rated 10!
The portions are tastings (except for the fried food), you pay like everywhere else nowadays....
For me 3 stars... happy to have tried it but it's not one of my favorite places (personal opinion)

07/04/2025: Found this place by chance while passing through. We ate a pizza as good as we hadn't had in a long time, with wholemeal dough, well-leavened and cooked to perfection. Impeccable service, a little chaotic environment. We will return whenever we pass by

30/06/2025: Invited to a birthday dinner, the table was placed near a hedge and moreover under some gazebos, there was not a breath of air circulating, we told the waitress to put a bottle of wine in the fridge that after she brought us the first one which was hot, we would have preferred to drink the second one cold, as if we had preached in the desert.....

08/06/2025: Arriving aboard the historic train with seats already reserved, we had lunch at this restaurant; what can I say, everything was delicious, from the choice of cheeses, the focaccia, the risotto, the tagliata, not to mention the desserts!!! If you are in the Varallo area, I recommend you take a trip!!!

26/06/2025: Apparently simple restaurant but after many restaurants more of oven than substance at Giovanni you appreciate the quality of the raw materials and a classic Roman cuisine expertly made in its concrete simplicity, Fabrizio the friendly and efficient owner knows how to put everyone at ease. Well done, keep it up.

08/07/2025: I went to lunch with my girlfriend. The waiter was very rude and impolite, and while we were eating, he rudely asked us to move. My girlfriend asked for a pizza with less mozzarella, as she's lactose intolerant, and the waiter laughed in her face and brought her a pizza full of mozzarella that she couldn't finish. The carbonara pizza is disgusting; it's a pizza with bacon and a scrambled egg that looks like it's made of rubber. Bottom line: we'll never return to this rude and filthy restaurant again.

22/06/2025: Stayed for one night and could not sleep whole night as AC was not working. Despite complaining several times nothing was done. No fan was provided....
15/06/2025: I stayed one night in this hotel, I would say that is enough. Air conditioning that leaks water on the floor, no toilet paper in the bathroom, carpet that peels, insects and flies even though the window was already closed.
To be a 3 star in my opinion it deserves a little more care and cleanliness.
Perhaps the only thing that can give it a bit of a score is the almost central location of the structure, so you can easily reach the historic center on foot in a short time.

18/06/2025: Place almost in the pedestrian area, we went for lunch. Good food, portions not particularly large, fair prices. Friendly staff.
15/06/2025: I have had the opportunity to have lunch at this place only once... I think it's the last time.
The food quality is fair.
There would be a list of negatives to list but to name just a few:
The lady owner. She is certainly good at welcoming customers but the management of the staff is terrible. Too rude and yells non-stop at the employees for whom I myself felt a great pity.
The place is quite old and not very clean. In my opinion it is unhygienic to keep the bread in the pans on a trolley in the middle of the room on which, moreover, a fan is placed, rightly so.
This place is definitely recommended to NAS!
