Wasabi Sushi Fusion
Tortolì
14/01/2025: August evening with the whole family. Good and fun!
18/08/2024: The staff was friendly at all times but the kitchen is quite slow, we were just the two of us in the place. I don't know what a service will be like with the place full...
We are used to eating sushi, since we love it, and the truth is that we were a little disappointed regarding the quality and price. We expected more flavor and more elaborate dishes.
Normally we find this type of quality in eat and drink buffets for X amount that are quite typical in Italy and not in a place without this type of menu and with medium-high prices.
We ordered some tacos (in this place they prepare them with crunchy corn tortillas). They have a simple flavor and do not come with any type of special dressing or sauce. Besides, I don't usually like that type of tacos because it is quite cumbersome since all the contents spill out when eating it.
We didn't order desserts, so I can't rate them, since it was going to be 2:30 p.m. and we don't like to go past closing time so that the staff doesn't have to work extra hours.
The place is nice although somewhat gloomy and the location that appears on Google Maps is incorrect since the place is located on another, more main street, today.
In response to the owner:
We know that there were different types of options that offered different types of sushi but none of them convinced us due to the price and variety of sushi they offered (With menus we mean a menu of x dishes with drinks included and desserts that are in some restaurants for X amount price). Likewise, no, the price did not seem bad to us, since we are used to eating in gourmet places and sushi places where we have gladly paid €150. In this case the bill was about €63 and I, personally and given the number of sushi places I have gone to in different countries, consider that it is a somewhat high price for the type of quality and variety of products you offer. since the dishes I have eaten in various eat and baby sushi restaurants for €20 per person throughout Italy are very similar to those I have eaten (restaurants whose reviews you can see in my account). You can also see in my local reviews of much more expensive sushi that we have been to and that the review is higher since the quality-price corresponds.
And given the number of times we have had sushi and the number of places we have gone to, I think I can say when a sushi has something special and deserves to be paid for as such. Since we have been to spectacular places with incredible preparations, one of them on the island itself in Arzachena. (The sushi rice must be creamy, the pieces must not come loose, the fish must have few betas, be soft and melt in the mouth, tacos of this style usually have some type of creamy sauce so that the bread does not become soft. and have more flavor...)
In all the places we have gone for sushi, except for take-away stands in supermarkets, they provide the sauces and wasabi at no cost, which is appreciated. But what doesn't seem logical to me is that you make them free and if someone then gives an average review, you blame them or emphasize it. If you consider that the sauces should be charged, you are completely within your rights, but if you offer them for free, do not use it as a reproach later if the review is not 5 stars.
I do not consider the location information to be something negative, since we have called you and you have explained the street to us without any problem, it is simply information so that the next people who go to eat at the establishment know that it is no longer in the same location, Don't think it's closed, which is what happened to us, even thinking that I had the wrong number when calling to make the reservation.
