08/05/2025: Ormai location fissa per le feste familiari, anche quest'anno il Sole di Maleo ha ospitato la nostra brigata (6 persone più il nostro inseparabile border collie) per il mio compleanno. Che dire ? Gli anni passano, le buone abitudini si cercano di mantenere. E tra le buone abitudini c'è anche quella di rilassarsi pranzando al Sole, un ambiente quasi fuori dal tempo che ti invita, come nella canzone di Lucio Dalla, "a lasciare la bicicletta sul muro e camminare la sera con un amico a parlar del futuro". Qui non si cammina ma si resta seduti,non si parla solo di futuro ma anche e sopratutto di presente e passato, mentre mangi un ottimo risotto o un sublime cervo CBT (vera sorpresa), passando per zuppe di cipolle, uova croccanti o faraona alle mele. Tolgo sempre un punto per la cantina a mio parere non adeguata al menu. ne aggiungo uno per la sempre deliziosa addetta al nostro tavolo. In ogni caso, qui non si resta mai delusi .
27/04/2025: I have known Albergo del Sole since the 70s, I had the privilege of meeting the parents of the current owners, Franco and Silvana, I was only a child but I remember the dishes they presented to guests with great love. The onion soup in broth, the stew with polenta not to mention the famous sandy one with mascarpone cream! Tastes that have remained in my heart. Today, years later, I have returned to Il Sole, where my children Mario and Francesca continue their parents' mission with great ability.
Seeing the place again, elegant, warm and welcoming, took me back 45/50 years, with some changes and embellishments, the place recalls the past, but with an air of
renewal, of elegance... there is the fireplace where once, by means of a system of pulleys with stone weights, a mechanical rotisserie with movement without an engine, slowly turned loaded with meat that roasted on a wood fire, while next to it, an open kitchen showed a cauldron with polenta always ready and hot. I was very surprised to see that fireplace and that rotisserie system again, now not working, but there in its place.
The friar in the middle of the room where chef Franco once hosted customers in a unique and unforgettable journey of conviviality. Well today that brother is there in his place and his son Mario maintains that tradition, a feather in his cap, to be praised!
Lunch was a discovery of incredible tastes and combinations, always respecting the local raw materials and the tradition of local cuisine but with innovation and elegance. Nothing is out of place, Mario in the dining room knows how to take care of guests and offer a truly pleasant experience, almost from another era.
Quality, excellent cuisine, service and the great choice of wines from their own cellar is worthy of great appreciation.
The prices are appropriate to the excellent quality and skill of the Chef and the venue.
