We had a fantastic New Year's Eve celebration here. The food was absolutely delicious and among the best we've ever had. The staff and owners were incredibly kind, polite, and went above and beyond to ensure we had a wonderful evening. We truly appreciate their efforts and look forward to visiting again!

Birramisú makes you believe that coffee has always been the wrong ingredient! Congratulations guys!!! It's a shame I'm not a great beer connoisseur but I thank the staff for the explanation on how (and why) beer is poured!
22/11/2024: Nice little place on that branch of Lake Lecco. Excellent burger, served with chips and an excellent pepper sauce, good beers of various styles. Try the oatmeal stout and the hoppy bitter. All top-fermented, obviously except the pils which is very good to drink. Competent and friendly staff.

23/12/2024: I went to this little bar in the center of Lecco and was pleasantly impressed. The atmosphere is truly characteristic and welcoming. The venue also has an elevated floor which offers a very nice view of the venue and the street, a real added value. The girls who run it were very kind, always smiling and very efficient in their service. The coffee was great and I really appreciated that the place is dog-friendly. A perfect place for a relaxing break or a coffee with friends. Highly recommended!
01/12/2024: Coffee and desserts were decent, but, by god, there was the worst music playing that I've ever encountered in a cafe / bar. I am not even sure what genre some of the "songs" were, and I enjoy most types of music (including most Italian genres), but that was something else.. Not going to leave a low star rating in case it was a one-off.

27/12/2024: Trattoria/restaurant/pizzeria where on weekdays for lunch there is a business menu at €13 with first/second/side dish/drink/coffee and cover charge or pizza menu €8/9 (prices December 2024) or à la carte menu. Very spacious lounge, with huge tables. Clean bathrooms with changing table. Very kind waiters.
Excellent dishes, we will be back.

Staff is not warm indifferent,
The dishes are well served but nothing extraordinary from a 3 star I expected much more.

17/11/2024: I stayed at Hotel Centrale last summer with my husband, his parents, and my mother last summer during our trip to Italy, and our stay at Hotel Centrale was a beautiful highlight of our trip. We were all impressed by the kindness of the staff, the excellent food, and the beauty of the hotel and its surroundings.
I made our reservation by contacting the owner on WhatsApp. He was kind and flexible: when I asked what time we could check in, he said “any time is okay.” This seemed almost too easy compared to a typical hotel experience, but sure enough, we were greeted and shown to our rooms with no trouble as soon as we arrived. The staff was very kind and helpful, with a casual family atmosphere. Partway through our stay, our parents went down to stay by the lake for a couple nights, but the owner generously allowed my husband and me to stay put in our triple room at no additional cost so we didn't have to move.
Our rooms were simple but clean and comfortable, and they put us on the highest floor, where we had a breathtaking view of the town and the mountains. The whole hotel has a charming alpine aesthetic that added to the experience of being in such a beautiful mountain village.
My husband and I are both vegan, which can be a challenge when traveling, especially outside of big cities. But we were so impressed by how the staff at Hotel Centrale accommodated our dietary needs. We had let the owner know in advance on WhatsApp that we are vegan, and immediately from our first breakfast there, they provided us with an assortment of delicious vegan pastries and had non-dairy milk for our cappuccinos. At lunch and dinner as well, the staff understood our needs as vegans and readily adapted their menu of local cuisine to provide us with a variety of hearty and delicious options.
The hotel was quite easy to get to by bus, though anyone coming to Esino should be prepared to walk up and down the town's steep hills. There is a bus from the Varenna Esino train station. You can buy the tickets at the information booth (marked with an “i” sign) at the station.
I highly recommend Hotel Centrale for anyone who wants a charming, comfortable, relaxed stay with delicious food—especially if you're vegan!

29/10/2024: Varenna is worth every trip. If you're vacationing on Lake Como and want to stay in a small, romantic town, this is the right place for you. You can take the boat to several other places and are therefore flexible.
We liked it best in Varenna.

07/10/2024: In passato si mangiava bene. E la terrazza è la più bella di Varenna. Ora, non accettano prenotazioni e propongono un meno fisso male assortito. Risultato: alle ore 13 il ristorante era vuoto e in paese era invece difficile trovare posto.

08/10/2024: Personal encantador, ubicación fantástica, muy buena comida y café. Desayunamos aquí un par de veces. El personal del café nos reconoció cada mañana y fue muy amable y atento. Los cruasanes iban a morir por ellos. Se ejecutan a partir de las 9 am y también hacen una cena. Encantador.
