23/12/2025: I stayed at the Albergo Cavallino in Faenza for one night during a business trip. The location is certainly convenient, right on the Via Emilia and close to several amenities, but the property overall feels stuck in a few decades. Welcome and Check-in The reception staff was friendly and helpful, no complaints there. Check-in was quick and uncomplicated. However, as soon as you enter the lobby, you sense a slightly dated atmosphere: old furnishings, dim lighting, and a general "seen and seen" feeling that doesn't help make a good first impression. Room The room was clean, but the furnishings were clearly showing signs of age. Worn furniture, carpeting in need of replacement, and a functional but decidedly outdated bathroom, with tiles and fixtures reminiscent of the 1990s. The bed was comfortable, but the soundproofing leaves something to be desired: you can clearly hear the noise from the hallway and the traffic on the Via Emilia, especially during rush hour. Services Breakfast was decent, with a sufficient selection but nothing memorable. The breakfast room could use a refresh: the tables and chairs are still in good condition, but the overall atmosphere feels a bit drab. Parking is convenient and free, a plus. Cleanliness Overall cleanliness was good, both in the room and in the common areas. I didn't find anything out of place or neglected, and that deserves credit. Final Thoughts The Albergo Cavallino isn't a bad place to stay, but it's clear it needs a major renovation to compete with other hotels in the area. The basics are there, the staff is courteous, and the location is excellent, but everything else seems several years behind the times. If you're just looking for a place to sleep and don't have any high expectations, it's a good choice. However, if you're expecting a modern atmosphere or attention to detail, you'll likely be disappointed.
