Every visit to the funny crocodile is an experience! The atmosphere alone is special. Peter's service is personal and makes you feel right at home.
The menu is small but delicious, and Stefan cooks the best lasagna ever (but he's not the only one ☺️). A must-visit on any holiday in Kaltern!

During our vacation in South Tyrol, we found this small restaurant on Goldgasse in Kaltern. We were very pleasantly surprised by the food: tortellini filled with porcini mushrooms and truffle foam, and very well-filled herb pasta. We sat across from the restaurant in a small garden with only five tables. It was incredibly cozy and elegantly set, and the weather was perfect on October 15th. A dream, with very friendly service.

It's always been one of our favorite places in Kaltern, whether it's for a cappuccino in the morning, a wine/beer in the afternoon, or, like this time for dinner for the first time in all these years. And I have to say, it was fantastic!!!
Small menu, but I'd rather have something small and honest & delicious than a big one with everything on it but lacking authenticity and flavor. The food was very, very good and tasted homemade...we had pasta with a bacon/cheese filling and a truffle ravioli. In addition to the great food, we also love the ambiance (with an unusual music selection) and the very friendly service. Great owners. We'll definitely be back on our next visit to Kaltern.

A very nice, small restaurant with a few tables inside and plenty outside. You sit in the old town, a bit away from the hustle and bustle but still right in the center. We've never tasted lasagna with such a creamy sauce, and the tartar was also perfectly seasoned. Very attentive service and fair prices. A real recommendation.

The beef tartar was very fresh and well-seasoned. The wild garlic gnochi on a butter sauce with Parmesan cheese tasted of fresh wild garlic and good potato dough. The bressailola was wafer-thinly sliced, well-seasoned, and very lean. The accompanying salad was also very fresh and well-combined. The wines we chose (Sauvignon and a Merlot) went very well with the meal and were of a truly pleasing quality (the Sauvignon was mild and tropically fruity, the Merlot had a spicy note of red grapes and a distinct woody aroma from the barrique, including tiny traces of tartar, which speaks to the originality of the oak barrels). Peter's service was, as always, incredibly friendly, attentive, and personable. He really does a fantastic job. Since it wasn't busy (very bad weather), we were able to enjoy Stefan's time on stage as an excellent pop cover singer, and we had a very special evening with songs by Udo Jürgens, Elton John, Roy Orbison, Engelbert, Neil Diamond, Freddy Quinn, and others, amidst the quirky and interesting decor of the bar. Thank you so much. Always more than a recommendation. An experience.

Väldigt god Bresaola med sallad och ärtskott samt Burratan var också ljuvligt god, ost i smakrik tomatsås. Till detta serveras bröd. Man får en fin vit duk på bordet och vita linneservetter. Väl värt ett besök.

Es un restaurant pequeñito en la esquina de la calle, te atiende el dueño y una mesera, los dos muy amables y eficientes. La comida estuvo espectacular, la bebida igual y el postre ayudó a cerrar con broche de oro. Pedimos recomendaciones al dueño sobre q Viñedo podíamos visitar y nos recomendó los mejores. Experiencia inigualable
