So yumm. A few of these types of butcher restaurants around and this one was just what we were after. The front room was set up as a butcher where you choose meat and then fabulous dining area through the kitchen and across the alley. Meat was spectacular and baked potatoes will be remembered. Great service and very reasonably priced

This was a wonderful experience, we didn't really understand the process, you choose your meat first, they then take in and cook in the wood oven, while you walk though to restaurant.
Food was great, meat cooked to perfect, crispy, charred but still juicy. We had bombette, sausage and veal strip + potatoes, (baked and covered
in olive oil and salt came close to stealing the show) and well as grill eggplant and zucchini. The meal is simple but perfect. The setting is atmospheric. One of my fave dining experiences in Pulgia.

I had already been here to eat once before and I must say that the food is quite good... the meat is good... except that, since it's always full, you wait a little too long to eat.
PS: the baked potatoes are also good

The typical restaurant/butcher shop mainly serves meat, there is a counter like a butcher's shop where you choose what you want to eat and all the typical products and cuts together with the very famous bombette which are cooked on the spot on a spit to perfect cooking, accompanied by potatoes always typical of the area and some side dishes, the place is traditional, very easy but the staff is efficient, despite a chaotic circle of people given the time of the visit (Christmas) recommended for the typicality of the bowler hats and Uncle Pietro who is behind there butcher's shop to cut and serve the meat together with the fantastic wood-fired oven.🪵 🥩 🍷

Attracted by the reviews we arrived at Zio Pietro. Classic look-choose-eat setup. Everything was excellent but waiting for 2 hours sitting between 2 to receive roasted meat seemed too much. We missed the opportunity to see Cisternino well and we will take it into account for future visits

Fantastic place in Cisternino in the center, like all grill restaurants you first choose between meat, rolls, bombette and sausage. Then you are accompanied to the table and everything arrives in a few minutes. Highly recommended

Chi dice Cisternino dice zio Pietro. In effetti accomodarsi in una suggestiva saletta dal tipico stile pugliese e assaporare bombette, zampina e patate arrosto è un'esperienza da provare se si è da queste parti. Servizio veloce, personale gentile e prezzi ragionevoli.

Ci è stato consigliato da gente del posto, essendo un locale storico. Forse vive di fama, perché c'è fila già alle 19. Abbiamo mangiato bene ma non mi sento di dare l'eccellenza. Forse anche perché è economico, piace molto. Il servizio è ovviamente molto spartano, perché comunque si sceglie al bancone la carne e poi si va a tavola. Non so perché agli altri tavoli sia arrivato il pane e a noi no. La carne è arrivata presto perché eravamo tra i primi. Abbiamo assaggiato quasi tutte le bombette, abbiamo preferito quelle panate, più saporite, e poi pancetta e puntine, molto buone, e infine zampina, niente di eccezionale. Il vino della casa proprio no. Buone le patate.
