This place delivers on its promises. The chanterelle pappardelle is truly excellent, and the Spatzle is delicious. The service is quick, friendly, and welcoming. It's definitely not a gourmet restaurant, but the food is excellent.

I can highly recommend Bistro Cafe Zentral. The friendly welcome, the selection of food and drinks, and the delicious preparation all far exceed what you would expect from a "bistro." Since I was a guest at the Stroblhof Hotel and the Bistro Café Zentral is practically within walking distance, I naturally wanted to eat there at least once. As the Restaurant Martl was closed during my stay, I looked for an alternative. To be honest, I was initially a bit skeptical, as I had read some negative reviews. After doing some research, however, I noticed that most of these reviews were already one or two years old. Therefore, I decided to see for myself. And I have to say: I'm glad I did. I experienced absolutely none of the negative experiences that had been described. On the contrary. I received a very friendly welcome from the start and was served extremely attentively and warmly throughout my entire stay. You immediately notice that you are valued as a guest here. On my first evening, I only stopped by for dessert. I opted for a strawberry sundae with fresh strawberries, various ice cream flavors, and plenty of whipped cream. At around €11, it was not only reasonably priced but also tasted fantastic. The fresh strawberries were a real treat. Since the dessert had impressed me so much, I returned the next day to try the food. For a starter, I had a sliced ​​pancake soup, which was delicious and flavorful. Of course, I couldn't resist ordering a Wiener Schnitzel for my main course. The schnitzel was superbly prepared, beautifully golden brown, and the fries were perfectly salted and crispy. I'd like to emphasize the service once again. All the staff were exceptionally friendly, motivated, cheerful, and very attentive. This is exactly the kind of hospitality you want. The prices are also absolutely fair. A large pork schnitzel for around €17.50 isn't something you find everywhere these days. The portions are generous, and the quality is excellent. My conclusion: Don't be put off by older reviews. I usually pay close attention to reviews, but in this case, they don't reflect my experience at all. Bistro Café Zentral completely won me over with its friendly service, good food, and fair prices. If you're in the area, you should definitely give this restaurant a try. Otherwise, you might miss out on a really great restaurant.

My pork schnitzel was just okay, and I wish restaurants around the world would make a better effort to make their French fries tasty instead of just giving everyone half a pound and hoping no one notices it’s tasteless. Find the right supply, then cook it at the right temperature in coconut oil or tallow, not seed oil. However, this restaurant has a very good location in the center of St. Leonard, with views of the mountains. Staff are polite, fast, and strike the right balance, neither too distant nor over-solicitous.

Excellent beef goulash! My special request for spaetzle instead of rice was absolutely no problem. The staff was very friendly and attentive. The portions were generous. I'm not sure where the bad reviews come from.
