Yum - Taste of the Philippines In Milano

Filipino food from the Batangas region with a twist! As a second time visitor to Milan, I finally managed to come to YUM and I must say I absolutely enjoyed lunch at this restaurant. All the food, from the starters to the mains and ultimately the desserts, were delicious, flavourful and presented beautifully. The owner, a native of Batangas Province in the Philippines was very welcoming, attentive and friendly- she treated my guests and me extremely well! Also, as a Filipino, I'm glad to see that YUM has catapulted our cuisine to the 21st century, using some of Batangas' traditional dishes and creatively tweaking them into a new identity that's able satisfy both Filipino and Italian palettes. As far as the space, the restaurant's ambience is very warm, inviting, and serves as perfect location to meet friends and family. The tables, plates, glassware and cutlery were organised neatly and the chairs were comfortable. Lastly, the bathroom was clean and smelled fresh with potpourri. Overall, I highly recommend this place to any Filipino longing for taste of home. To non Filipinos who are unfamiliar with Filipino food, YUM's menu will definitely provide a good introduction to the island's cuisine.

A cozy little Filipino gem we stumbled upon here in Milan! On the last leg of our Europe trip, we were craving a taste of home and Ate Mabel absolutely delivered. The food hit right where it needed to, and her warm welcome (plus the Milan tips!) made it even better. 💛
