We stopped at the Winklerhof for refreshments and a drink while hiking along the Rabland Waalweg. Both the vitello tonnato (unfortunately, no photo) and the hotel's own interpretations of desserts are highly recommended. The service was also very friendly, the prices reasonable, and the ambiance pleasant.

My absolute favorite... A visit to Rabland is incomplete without the Winklerhof. Super delicious food, amazing service, and the view of the Vinschgau Valley is not to be despised! ...and I brought the Kaiserschmarrn for later...An absolute culinary experience! Maybe we'll manage to stay overnight in the apartment sometime!

Beautiful location, tastefully decorated restaurant and terrace, quick and friendly service, delicious salad, tasty goulash, aperitif with homemade basil syrup (bought straight away), and wines by the glass from the surrounding area. Highly recommended!

Das Essen war geschmacklich sehr gut, der Hofschank liegt an einem ruhigen Ort mit wunderbarer Aussicht und der Service glänzt durch Freundlichkeit und Kompetenz. Die Kinder wurden beispielsweise sehr schnell zufriedengestellt.

We ate at the Winklerhof on Sunday. It was beautifully decorated, and the staff was friendly. Those with disabilities might have a bit of trouble reaching the restaurant. The food itself was average, and the price was reasonable.

08/04/2025: Wiener Schnitzel with fries was ok and plentiful, Kaiserschmarren with cranberries and vanilla sauce was a dream, plus good and friendly service.
22/03/2025: Yes, it was good, it was good. Nice beer garden atmosphere. Unfortunately the view is not that good. Very good food. But there's a lot going on. But well organized. There was a funny dachshund at our table.🐕It had nothing to do with it but it was great.

Restaurant Pizzeria Hellweger's

20/06/2025: We just loved this place- so much that we returned a second night during our three-night stay in Merano. The people here really know what they are doing- arrivals are greeted quickly, the courtyard ambiance is both cozy and airy, service is professional and kind, the food arrives promptly and was nicely presented and flavorful. Tables are efficiently cleared and new guests welcomed. Highly recommend - try to get reservations by emailing. Update: returned two years later and found this much as before- same people, elegant courtyard, prettily- composed food. A stylish modern restaurant, well-run.
20/06/2025: A table for two without reservation, we are here for the 3rd time and what can I say TOP, service top, food top, keep it up
