Tipanan Japanese Restaurant In Catanzaro

Nice and tasty, but with two issues: The gyoza are too expensive for the quantity! The water served isn't bottled, but they charge way too much for it. I mean, buy filtered water if it's free, otherwise it's absolutely no good considering all the water problems in Catanzaro.

Good food, but definitely expensive for the portions offered, €12 for 3 gyoza is a bit excessive I'd say it's practically like paying €4 for a potato chip 🤯

We had lunch at Tipanan, located on the Catanzaro seafront, and the experience was truly excellent. The restaurant, in typical Japanese style, is welcoming, with attention to detail, and creates a relaxing atmosphere that complements the sea view perfectly. The staff was friendly, attentive, and professional, always ready to recommend the best dishes and accommodate every need with courtesy. The menu offers a selection of Japanese dishes, made with the freshest ingredients and presented with great aesthetic attention. Each course was a pleasure for the palate, with authentic flavors and generous portions. The quality-price ratio was also excellent. We highly recommend Tipanan to anyone looking for a lunch that's a little different: authentic flavors, impeccable service, and a charming location overlooking the sea. We'll definitely be back!

Excellent...the best restaurant in Catanzaro

The staff is friendly and helpful. Without a doubt, the best seafood restaurant in Catanzaro.

It is really difficult to express in words the welcome and quality we found when we had lunch here. The staff is really kind and attentive to details and the food is really good. We tried both sushi and other fish dishes and everything was really good! If we pass through Catanzaro Lido again, it is definitely a stop that we will not miss.

Tipanan is a place that remains in your heart, not only for the excellent quality of their dishes (desserts included) but also for the magical atmosphere and the professionalism of all the staff. I would return to Catanzaro just to be able to eat there again, compliments indeed.

I gave three stars because the restaurant presents itself as a Japanese restaurant and an Italian seafood restaurant, and when we booked they also specified that there are two separate brigades. I absolutely do not doubt this, but I point out that if you have to go to eat at this restaurant it is only for the Japanese food, certainly of a high standard. My wife ate Japanese and ate very well, very well-prepared dishes, exceptional raw materials. I ate Italian, with a remarkable appetizer, a parmigiana with swordfish, but a first course that was barely adequate, Calamarata with scorpion fish sauce in which you could not taste the scorpion fish at all, and above all a second course, fried seafood and anchovies, absolutely poor, with calamari, almost inedible, anchovies au gratin that were barely adequate. So going here to eat Japanese is ok, but I would leave it alone for Italian.
