Waalrast In Lana

Waalrast is always our first stop when we arrive in Lana for our beloved South Tyrol holidays. I've known this restaurant since 2006, and even as a little boy, I was captivated by the stunning view. The food is very traditional and delicious. You can also enjoy Waalrast as a rest stop after admiring the adjacent Brandis Waalweg trail with its beautiful location and breathtaking views. It's simply a must-visit for us on every South Tyrol holiday, and a visit always brings back wonderful memories. The staff are very friendly and attentive.

Walked the Brandiswaalweg trail – stopped in spontaneously despite having other plans. Wonderful, sunny location. Great view. Very attentive and friendly service from the two girls. Good selection of dishes with additional daily specials at really fair prices. We had the vegetarian meal – lightly breaded zucchini with salad and tartar sauce – as well as the homemade shepherd's macaroni. Both dishes were absolutely fantastic. Beautiful hiking trail, just right, and the nearby waterfall is the best dessert, a great way to end the day with a bit of visual cooling.

Truly the best Kaiserschmarrn I've ever eaten! And I've tried it at a few restaurants in Austria and South Tyrol. It was slightly crispy on the outside, fluffy and soft on the inside, with raisins and cranberries. It wasn't overly sweetened or dripping with fat, as you unfortunately often get elsewhere. The taste was absolutely fantastic! The service was also very friendly, and there were seating options with a beautiful view.

Located directly on the Brandis Waalweg (Waal Trail), it offers a good place to stop for a bite to eat and a beautiful view. Always friendly service and good value for money. Behind the house, the Waalweg (Waal Trail) continues to the waterfall, which is definitely worth a visit.

The food was delicious and the staff very friendly. It's almost always full, so reservations are definitely recommended!

I can wholeheartedly recommend the Waalrast! Very tasty and generously sized meals. Very good value for money 🤙 The service consists of very friendly, professional ladies who are always up for a joke.
