The fish was incredibly fresh and perfectly cooked, full of flavor and beautifully presented. You can tell this is a place where locals eat, authentic, simple, and focused on quality. If you're looking for fresh seafood in Sicily, this spot is a must-try. We’re so glad we followed the local advice!

Booked but no table on arrival. Set one up around the corner on the street. Focus on quantity over quality at this resteraunt…food was all a bit rushed and not highest quality compared to other restaurants

A great place to eat, drink, and relax. The staff is super friendly. We especially found Yasin and Fernando to be extremely nice. We highly recommend them!

Si mangia bene, servizio cortese e veloce. Come antipasto abbiamo preso la parmigiana, qui la fanno in un modo che non avevo mai visto, ma spettacolare. Davvero buona. Ho chiesto una tagliata di tonno rosso appena scottata e me l'hanno portata ben cotta, prontamente dopo averla fatta notare al cameriere che aveva preso l'ordinazione è stata sostituita in maniera molto veloce, scusandosi per l'inconveniente. Preso anche un piatto di paccheri ai frutti di mare, moto buona anche quello. Qui come in tutta Catania costa più il vino della casa che un piatto di pesce. In 2 con 1 antipasto, 1 primo ed un secondo e mezzo litro di vino sfuso, abbiamo speso 59€

29/12/2025: 5 stars for everything. It's the only place in Catania where you feel at home, from the familiar and welcoming atmosphere to the perfectly cooked food. I've been coming for years and have never had a bad meal. Excellent traditional dishes, but also surprising and innovative combinations that always turn out perfectly! Unique!

11/01/2026: If you love mushrooms, this is a place you absolutely must try. At Hosteria Il Porcino, I ate the best mushrooms ever, prepared with truly rare care and quality: fragrant, flavorful, simply extraordinary. The mushroom appetizer was a true sensory experience, a delight that captivates from the first bite. The pizza? Excellent, well-cooked, with quality ingredients and a great balance of flavors. The fillet steak with green peppercorns deserves a special mention: exceptional, incredibly tender, and with a perfect sauce. All this is accompanied by kind, professional, and attentive staff, capable of making you feel at home right away. The price is absolutely reasonable, more than justified by the quality of the dishes and the level of experience. A restaurant I recommend without reservation: top-notch quality, authentic cuisine, and great passion. I will definitely be back!
23/12/2025: Truly excellent mushroom dishes, but what impressed us most was the service. The young woman who served our table was extremely kind, attentive, and cheerful. Highly recommended, especially for winter evenings.
