18/01/2026: After nearly a week in Italy, we were craving South Indian food and turned to Saravanaa Bhavan, a name we usually trust. We arrived late and without a reservation, but the staff was gracious enough to seat us. While the Idli was fine, the Uttapam was disappointing—it felt "machine-made," possibly using frozen batter and vegetables. Even more surprising for a city like Rome, which is known for fresh ingredients, the chutneys didn't live up to the standard of other Saravanaa locations worldwide. Great location near Rome Termini, but the food quality needs to be more consistent with the brand's reputation. Also the way to bathroom was too dirty :|
