It's not just any place... even if it only stops us for lunch. It's a real EXPIRIENCE. Today I tasted (house entrée) the best freshly baked brioche bread in the world with French butter flavored with herbs. A homemade potato crochettone, served with mortadella and cream cheese (excellent!) and a really delicious yellow pumpkin flan as an appetizer, and the agnolotti freshly made by Agnese (the owner and chef of Villa De Donatis) with hand-rolled pastry and filled with parmesan cream (exceptional!!). All seasoned with excellent Salento wine, a breathtaking view and a familiar environment full of real life. Agnese SUPER!! Absolutely highly recommended ❤️

Really great restaurant! We had Boxing Day lunch here and every dish fully satisfied us. The dessert buffet alone is worth the "ticket price".

Se cercate una location dal sapore retro' l'avete trovata. Entrerete in una vera e propria villa con uno stile unico! Caldo, accogliente, ogni dettaglio è studiato con grande meticolosita'. Siamo stati in occasione di un matrimonio e giuro che se dovessi riposarmi sarebbe la location che sceglierei! Tutto ottimo, ingredienti di prima qualità,servizio ottimo ed una apparecchiatura davvero raffinata. Insomma.... Consigliatissimo! Grazie davvero ad Agnese De Donatis che a Casarano ha avuto l'idea brillante di aprire un ristorante così particolare!

Desideravamo da tanto vivere quella che è stata una esperienza culinaria straordinaria, non ci siamo fatti mancare nulla: antipasto, primo e secondo squisiti. In questo posto: cuore, occhi e palato fanno una deliziosa esperienza. Siamo stati, inoltre, coccolati dalla gentilezza della dolcissima Tiziana a servirci. Grazie Agnese ♥️

12/04/2025: Locale frequentato per decenni. Oggi ci torno ogni tanto, sia per la nostalgia della nostra giovinezza, sia per la piacevolezza del tempo che vi si può trascorrere. Ai clienti più antiche non è sfuggito che il carrello degli antipasti ha perduto le cose più carine e costose, quindi non li prendiamo più. Anche perché il carrello degli antipasti è passato proprio come concetto. In effetti, la locanda è proprio la scena di un film sul sud degli anni Ottanta, nel bene e nel male. Il bene sta in una cucina semplice, familiare e a costi impressionanti. Una pizza margherita a 5€ non so dove si possa più trovare. Il male sta nell’ immutabilità. Il personale è molto gentile. 25/06/2025: We arrived from Borgo Massella with some doubts and instead we had a great time, we had for appetizer a very good fried otrantine and a spectacular sauté of mussels to eat a kilo of bread and finally for first course sagne with scorpion fish (catch of the day), generous portions. Super fair price. Surrounded by kindness and familiarity you feel at home. Highly recommended.
15/06/2025: I only remember good things. Ate here 5 times in 15 days. Excellent dishes, excellent pizzas, absolutely satisfying quantities and honest prices. What more could you ask for? Several large meals of fish, always very fresh, large bowls of mussels in a patio (well covered) lined with plants on the walls. Always kind and helpful both the owner and the collaborators. To be done again next year, when we return. June 2025. Returned. Naturally first dinner here. Everything always excellent with the plus of a plate of black tagliolini with cicada, never tried before, excellent quality. It has changed. At most, for the better.
