16/08/2025: Reading up on the history of casoncello, we're pleased to note that Barbariga is one of its founders.
Driven by curiosity, we searched Google and came across the Cavallino trattoria, where we were struck by the history of the place we'd read on their website.
Without hesitation, we made a reservation!
Once we arrived, the first, wonderful image we had was a sweet lady at the bar, ready to welcome her guests.
The place has a rustic feel, like the places of old, and we thought to ourselves:
We're in the right place!
We were then greeted by Massimo, a delightful man who welcomed us in a way that rarely happens in restaurants.
Naturally, we immediately ordered two of the three types of casoncelli they offer:
Delicious! Which prompted us to order the third type, the traditional Brescian one—wonderful!
The second course surprised us with a seemingly simple cold beef dish with oil, garlic, and parsley, which turned out to be exquisite!
To finish, a homemade apple crumble tart.
What can I say...
Beyond the quality/price ratio, which is hard to find elsewhere, the friendliness, the lively dining room, and the locally sourced food made for a noteworthy lunch.
We'll definitely be back when we're in Barbariga again!

01/06/2025: Good morning everyone, we went to celebrate a confirmation/communion today, hospitality service, excellent casoncelli, fantastic, excellent quality meat, 4 types of casoncelli, one better than the other, I recommend going there and I will definitely return, I don't give 5 stars but 10, thanks
