VETRI ristorante In Venezia

Enjoying our last day of our two week vacation, my wife and I had dinner at Vetri in Murano. After a rather rude hostess on the ground floor tried to keep us out (she later did a complete 180 after she was informed by a colleague we had a longstanding reservation), a more gracious host showed us to a table overlooking a busy bend in the canal. We practically had the entire terrace to ourselves. The sommelier recommended a fantastic crisp, local, dry white wine and we were off to the races. The local raw shellfish assortment was sweet in taste and beautiful in appearance. My wife had the gnocchi and it was incredibly light but bursting with flavor. My veal with tuna sauce secondi, served cold, was a bit one dimensional and overly beige in appearance. It was the only hiccup in an otherwise outstanding experience. We finished our unforgettable meal with coffee and tiramisu. Highly recommended if you’re in Murano.

A very unusual experience on a Sunday lunch...we were advised on some fish dishes, which recalled our local specialities...we found the excellent quality of the products, processed and assembled by the chef in an excellent manner...all 'look, the service appeared to be poorly prepared and attentive to detail, but all in all it wasn't that bad... the fact remains that if you're in those parts it's worth stopping to eat and enjoying a quality culinary experience.

I highly recommend this restaurant! The location is stunning with a nice view of the canal. Going straight to the food I have to say that I’ve eaten such tasty raw fish only a few times in my entire life. The other dishes were good too and nicely balanced; I was impressed by the gazpacho. The pasta is homemade and so are the sauces going along with it. The stuff pays a lot of attention on making the clients feel like at home, they are well prepared and very kind. I will surely come back!

We just stumbled upon this place when touring Murano, and wow, what a great surprise! The food was exquisite, as was the service and the view of the canal. One of the highlights of our overall trip so far!

Stunning view, incredible menu and presentation, amazing flavor, and wonderful hospitality. I can’t recommend Vetri enough.

Very expensive. Beautiful views, but average food, nothing out of this world, very scarce and very expensive. We ate on the terrace above, 160 euros without dessert, 3 people (2 adults and a child) and we left hungry... One of those master chef type places, very fine and that charge you for everything, and when they take out the food there is leftover plate everywhere. Apart from the views, I don't have good memories.
