Vermut In Catania

I did not get the hype about this place somehow. Nothing special…

The food was truly amazing, even more so considering the price. The wine was a little more expensive than other places, but the quality was worth it. The service wasn't particularly quick, but they were practically full.

A unique place, with a wide selection of alcohol and food (even too much), but a table layout that puts it on par with the worst failed states in the Middle East. An hour-plus wait for a charcuterie and cheese platter served on a sheet of paper. Avoid if you're short on time or, in general, if endless waiting doesn't amuse you. As for the others, I envy you.

If you are a lover of Vermut, this the place for you to sample as many as possible (and in unique coctails as well) from the hands of experts. I stayed in Sicily 10 days across the east and southern coast and never came across a bar with such a diverse range of Vermouth. It is a corner bar, so fun to hang around as well. Just unique and makes the Catania visit remarkable.

An absolute must if you’re a vermouth lover. Go early if you want a seat.

Particolare esperienza gastronomica in questo locale; abbiamo preso dei crostoni di pane conditi in modo eccezionale e delle patate ( papasade) ripiene veramente buone. Buono e attento il servizio ed buono il rapporto qualità prezzo

Nella miriade di locali che popolano il centro cittadino la cui movida è un vero e proprio must, questo è senza dubbio uno dei più gettonati. Composto da più salette anche in edifici differenti della via, pur se affiancati, e con tanti tavoli e sedie lungo la via, è sempre affollatissimo soprattutto da giovani. Tra gente seduta e folla che staziona consumando in piedi se non conosci l’ambiente è un po’ difficile destreggiarsi. Io opto per degli snack salati (gustosi ma non eccezionali) che accompagno, in nome del locale, con un calice di Vermut. I prezzi non sono proprio economici quindi occhio a non farvi prendere la mano davanti all’ampia e attraente varietà di crostini e stuzzichini proposti dal menu, perché poi alla fine il conto finisce per… sentirsi. Se non siete in comitiva e se non andate lì per far casino, il consiglio è quello di scegliere un orario non di punta, quando c’è meno gente e l’atmosfera magari sarà un po’ meno vivace ma sicuramente più umana.
