Benki's ice cream is delicious, and so is the pistachio jam. It's a bit pricey, though... They ask you if you want chocolate ice cream, and anything other than the basic ice cream costs extra. Benki is available at most Italian airports.

Couple of bad signs I ignored when I chose to come to Venchi. One, it's across the street from the uffizi in the heart of touristy Florence. Two, there's a chocolate fountain. Three, the gelato is left out and heaps instead of stored in gelato canisters. Should have known it was a tourist trap. The gelato wasn't "bad." It was adequate. The texture of the gelato more resembled ice cream with ice crystals perceivable but not prominent. The flavors tasted muted and weak, lacking complexity. Overall, I would not recommend going to Venchi unless you have not tried gelato before or you're desperate and it's the only option.

Me duele la boca cada vez que pienso en lo delicioso que era nuestro helado. Dondequiera que vayamos donde hay un Venchi nos aseguramos de complacernos. El personal de cada tienda es siempre agradable y servicial. Son eficientes con su orden. Te hacen pagar primero para que cuando recibas tu golosina no te ocupes del dinero.
