I'd already been to the restaurant in Testaccio, but this time for a lovely lunch on the veranda, we chose Velavevodetto in the quiet Prati area. Simple, traditional dishes are served, and reservations are recommended because it's popular and they have multiple seatings.
This time, I had fried artichokes, escarole, and pasta with Romanesco broccoli and pecorino cheese. The pasta was lovely and creamy, and the escarole was also topped with a generous helping of raisins and pine nuts, which I appreciated.
The portions are satisfying, and the service is average; a smile is always nice.

The food is excellent, clearly the result of experience in its preparation. After all, they've been offering the same menu for years, so it's truly a tried-and-tested establishment! The quality/price ratio is also excellent. It's definitely a restaurant worth recommending and frequenting.

Good, no-frills, and honest.
I ate well; the Jewish-style artichokes were amazing.
A nice place, the waiters are friendly, and the atmosphere is relaxed.

I've been going to this restaurant for 10 years, and the quality has always remained top-notch. Last night, the manager was extremely kind and knew how to handle what we might call "picky" diners. The manager was both elegant and friendly. He practically kept the place open just for us, since we arrived late.

An ideal restaurant to taste Italian cuisine. From the outside it doesn't look well-kept, but when you enter you encounter a very beautiful and well-kept space. The staff is impeccable and the prices are commensurate with the quality.

The fried artichokes were delicious, highly recommended! The steak was very good, the Carbonara was rich and flavorful but too salty for us 😅 The tiramisu was also good 👍

The best carbonara in Rome, without a doubt. The pasta was a bit too al dente for my taste, but the sauce was so good it didn't matter. The guanciale was incredibly flavorful and both tender and crispy. Afterwards, we had the pasta al ragù, which was delicious; you could tell it had been made with love. And to finish, the tiramisu—so good that it makes you want to return to Rome just for that dessert. The atmosphere was a bit noisy, but we were the only tourists there, and the waiters were very friendly. The place was cozy. (They charge a cover charge.)
