Went back twice and if the risotto di mare is back on the daily specials I really want to try it…the calamari were delicious, same with the pasta in asparagus cream sauce with crispy bacon. Friendly people and nice vibe.

Good value for money but the service is really poor, I'm sorry to say but they are a bit disorganized.... I'm still waiting for the bread and oil

A real bargain for an inexpensive and delicious lunch at the Trieste City Library. There's plenty of choice, especially for kids, and the portions are generous. It's very pleasant inside and highly recommended, as outside, unfortunately, people smoke.

Excellent beer, good grilled sandwiches. You can sit inside or outside. You can also dine in, and prices tend to be higher there. The dishes are traditional cuisine with Austrian influences.

Competitive prices and excellent food for the selection. You can eat outside in front of the restaurant and in the square, or inside. The place feels like an old pub inside. Service was adequate: there was one guy who was a bit awkward, but that was fine! I recommend the boiled meat and the Lubjanska; I really enjoyed it. There's a wide selection of beers on tap, from various countries, including German, Spanish, and English.

My partner and I entered this place with the idea of ​​drinking a beer and nibbling something on the fly. And, instead, thanks to the excellent suggestions of the waitress Roberta, we drank 4 beers (two each 😅) and ate some local dishes, finishing with typical local sweets and liqueurs. Everything was really good and the prices were absolutely honest. The kindness and accurate explanations of Roberta and also the welcome of Luca bring a real added value to this place. Oh I forgot... the choice of background music was top! We will definitely return if we find ourselves in Trieste again!

Went to Al Vecio Canal for dinner. The food was so amazing that we went back for lunch the following day. The fried calamari is amazing (but only available during lunch) and came with a tasty dipping sauce. The gnocchi in ragu Bolognese was great. The gnocchi were light and delicate and the ragu was robust with great flavor. The burgers were tasty. The Tagliatelle in roast gravy was very tasty. Add in great service and great atmosphere (played classic rock) and this place is the the ultimate dining experience.
