I stayed at this hotel for two nights in the superior double room. The room was apparently recently renovated and was extremely clean, with a comfortable bed and pillows, and a super-functional and comfortable bathroom and shower. Perhaps the temperature was a little low. I dined one evening in the hotel restaurant, choosing a menu specially designed for the festival held on the weekend of November 2nd in Baceno. The dishes all featured local ingredients, were well-executed, and presented as expected. I ate truly well. Breakfast was quite varied and had everything you could need. The restaurant and hotel staff were always courteous, smiling, and helpful. Convenient on-site parking is available.

Vecchio Scarpone is one of the most charming and clean hotel I ever been in Italy, the restaurant is absolutely delicious and the pastries are amazing. Definitely one of the place to visit and enjoy if you get to this breathtaking area of Italy!

Questo posto lo adoro, vengo qui a Baceno da molti anni e passo sempre di qui, prendo sempre una crema al caffè squisita, e il ristorante è veramente buono, avevo preso delle pappardelle al ragù di cervo, e le ho trovate squisite. L'albergo è veramente bello, non sono mai venuto qui a dormire, ma il salone dove si mangia a lo spazio che fa anche da bar sono spettaccolari, fatti in legno decorato, e dalla terrazza si può godere di una meravigliosa vista sul Cervandone. Tral'altro Baceno è il punto perfetto per partire a fare escursioni tra Le vicinanze di Baceno, Devero e la meravigliosa Val Formazza. Lo consiglio a tutti.

13/09/2025: I had lunch with friends today in this beautiful pizzeria restaurant. From the starters to the desserts, everything was really good. Everyone was really welcoming, plus it was wrapped in a postcard-like setting.
04/09/2025: Very nice location with a lake view. Tables are a bit cramped for four people. Friendly and fast staff. Extensive menu and good food. Prices are a bit high. There's also a children's menu.

27/10/2025: An Italian family business that could have come straight out of a commercial. Unobtrusive, human. We felt at home right away and—after trying several top-rated restaurants—went back to this one. It was simply the best (for us). The food was fantastic, the house wine delicious, and I'd come back more often for the espresso (€1.50 at your table). Speaking of prices: pizzas around €10 (large!), 1/4 liter of house wine €5 (or 3? It doesn't matter, it's good value). The only problem is that every other pizza I've had for a while has spoiled it. I've never had such a wafer-thin yet firm base, and the crust was airy and crispy.
26/10/2025: Excellent pizzeria. I found the pizza very good. The service and atmosphere were excellent. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable. It was spotlessly clean. Highly recommended! The price was good considering the location.
