Vecchia Osteria Robustello In Colico

After numerous unsuccessful attempts, we finally found the right place! A quaint, welcoming osteria, with friendly staff and, above all, excellent food (rare these days). Typical local cuisine and quality ingredients. Congratulations!!!

A beautiful osteria surrounded by greenery. The staff is very friendly and the quality/price ratio is good. For starters, I recommend the pizzoccheri gnocchi and the chestnut tortelli. For main courses, the game skewer is very scenic, and the ribs are truly flavorful.

Typical local cuisine, delicious dishes, and a location surrounded by greenery. What more could you ask for? The gnocchetti were incredible!

Some great food, some OK food, very slow service. Definitely book ahead and reserve a big chunk of time (3hrs at least) in your itinerary. We arrived relatively soon after they opened for lunch, and they were just about able to seat us outside although they were nearly full with reservations. Our antipasto plate arrived quite quickly, and it was excellent — the salami, the lard, the cheese were all great. As was the Misultini, which paired excellently with the bread. The wine was good too. We then had to wait over an hour to get our starters. The gnocchi was rather underwhelming — very cheesy and closer to an American mac n’ cheese than what we expected. The snail and porcini soup was quite nice, but took even longer than the gnocchi to arrive. Surely they are not making the soup fresh for every order, so I’m having trouble understanding how ladling soup into a bowl could take an hour and a half. Unfortunately after two hours we had not received our mains and we had to leave without as we had another engagement. The service itself was courteous, professional, and kind. The people running the place are lovely. I think the issue may be communication between the front and the kitchen. Also there’s only one bathroom and it doesn’t have a seat on the toilet.
