"Vecchia Aidone" restaurant: a wonderful discovery! Strolling through the city streets, the "Festa Antichi Sapori Aidonesi" (Ancient Flavors Festival) is here. It's a restaurant located within a welcoming old Sicilian farmhouse, renovated in a clever blend of rustic and modern. An elegant space with attention to detail, complete with an adjoining garden. Attentive and dynamic staff. A carefully curated wine list, featuring renowned producers and an excellent selection, indicates a place that places great emphasis on quality and the customer experience. The hostess offers impeccable service, advising and serving guests with professionalism and courtesy, demonstrating interest and attentiveness to their needs. The carefully selected labels offer a wide range of wines: white, red, rosé, and sparkling. This allows guests to find the wine that best suits their tastes and pairs with the dishes on the menu.
A big shout out to the chefs for their dishes, both traditional and innovative, masterfully balanced in flavor.
Highly recommended!

I attended the anniversary (20 years of honored activity) of the Vecchia Aidone restaurant and I was thrilled with the welcome of the owners, their competence and professionalism. Liborio, Cesira, Giuseppe, Rosario ........ sorry if I forget everyone's names but you are SPECIAL. A spectacular buffet prepared with genuine and tasty ingredients. The couscous as it has never been eaten before (the Tunisian chef was very good). Mind-blowing desserts. Beautiful location and the super-stocked wine cellar with an excellent choice. Thanks to the brands present at the restaurant. Well done everyone for the magnificent organization 🔝🔝🔝🔝🔝🔝

Ristorante Vecchia Aidone: Sicilian Excellence in Every Bite!
After a busy day of work with colleagues, we had the pleasure of having lunch at "Ristorante Vecchia Aidone" and we were nothing short of ecstatic. This restaurant, located in Via Senatore Cordova 90 in Aidone, is a true gem that undoubtedly deserves my full five stars.
As soon as you cross the threshold, you are greeted by an enchanting location, cared for down to the smallest details and surprisingly spacious. The structure is spread over several levels, starting from large internal rooms that open onto a delightful covered external section, culminating in a magnificent tree-lined and lush garden, an oasis of peace where you can have lunch surrounded by greenery. The environment is designed to offer comfort and beauty, making every moment spent here a true pleasure.
The owner and all the staff have proven to be impeccably professional, accompanied by contagious friendliness and rare availability. Every request was handled with a smile and attention to the customer that really makes the difference.
But the real star is undoubtedly the food. The quality of the raw materials is top-notch, with carefully selected ingredients that can be perceived in every dish. The Chef himself comes to the table to present the different proposals and courses of the menu, a touch of class that adds value to the experience and demonstrates the passion and dedication to cooking.
We began our gastronomic journey with a generous local and home-made appetizer, a riot of Sicilian flavors. From perfect fried foods to creative creations, to a Piacentinu cheese fondue that won everyone over. Each element of the appetizer was an invitation to discover the culinary richness of Sicily.
The first courses left us speechless. Among the proposals, we tasted a fresh pasta with a white Nebrodi pork ragù, a combination of robust and refined flavors, and paccheri with saffron, delicate and enveloping. The mastery of the preparation was reflected in the consistency of the pasta and the balance of the seasonings.
For the second course, the grilled steak was a triumph. Tasty, perfectly cooked to appreciate the redness of the meat inside and an irresistible crust on the outside. The quality of the meat was evident and the impeccable cooking brought out every flavor.
To accompany the courses, we opted for water and a Planeta Frappato red wine, which paired magnificently with the dishes, further enriching the experience.
To finish on a sweet note, the desserts were the worthy culmination of a superb meal. Each dessert is made on the spot, guaranteeing freshness and an authentic flavor. We delighted the palate with a sublime cheesecake with berries, a warm chocolate heart with a delicious cream bath and a classic but impeccable tiramisu.
Finally, bitters and coffee ended this memorable lunch in style.
Ristorante Vecchia Aidone is a place I would highly recommend to anyone looking for an authentic and high quality dining experience. We had a great time enjoying excellent food in a lovely atmosphere. I will definitely be back to try other dishes and enjoy an evening dinner in the charming garden.

Some truly delicious courses such as the sliced beef, cooked to perfection and tasty, quality meat... Other courses were without personality, the cold cuts platter rich but cannot be accepted without fresh local mozzarella... To finish the beef fillet.... Better to review the cooking times or at least check that it turned out acceptable.
I have to make a note on the service, that is, I cannot ask for a drink 2/3 times and it even arrives at room temperature...
Let's say that everything can be improved but if you take inspiration from the location the results can certainly reach high levels but the prices MUST reflect what is offered... otherwise they would have to be remodulated.
You shouldn't bite off more than you can chew...

Once again La Vecchia Aidone proves itself to be an excellence in the Enna food and wine panorama.
Combining it with the tasting of the elegant wines of the prestigious Venetian Bertani winery, chefs Liborio and Giuseppe Gangi have proposed a sensational menu, not without pitfalls, capable of enhancing seasonal products and revisiting classic recipes of Sicilian cuisine with ingenious ideas, with an almost obsessive attention to detail.
From the colorful appetizer (broad bean rolls in a bed of stracciatella) to the dessert (with an extraordinary balanced balance between sweet and acidic elements), the cuisine has surpassed itself, reaching very high peaks of taste and aesthetic pleasure.
The reinterpretation of the Sicilian pasta replaced by Venere rice is extraordinary, the first masterfully associated with the Miniere, a mineral but delicate wine, and the smoking on the Nebrodi pig is successful, with a contrast of sauces (asparagus and sweet potatoes) as risky as it is excellently thought out.
Of note is the excellent presentation of the wines, curated for the occasion not only by the landlady Cesira, but also by the competent and empathetic Oriana, two high-profile sommeliers.
Impeccable service, with a note of merit for the tireless and generous Carmelo.
The whole dinner was accompanied by live music, with a good violin.
All for a truly modest price in relation to the quality and intensity of the experience offered,
Congratulations to all.

On entering this restaurant, we were all quite amazed and pleased by the ambience and the decor. So we settled down to order in anticipation of a hopefully good dinner and experience.
Alas, some misgivings started creeping in when the patron or chef (he was dressed in chef's attire) came over to take our order. He looked rather impatient and did not come out as very friendly - yet that could have been my impression. He suggested the antipasti without giving us much info on what they consisted and, as we were not overly hungry, most of us asked for the soup of the day. He told us it was a fresh vegetable soup with legumes etc. We went for it, except for myself, who ordered the rabbit cacciatore.
Service was prompt and the antipasti, overall, good, abundant and varied. However when the soup came, those who had ordered it were dismayed by how salty it was... quite uneatable. In fact, no one finished the bowl and left half of it untouched. My rabbit was excellent, as far as taste and sauce, but I had to look with a magnifying glass to find the meat. It ended up with trying to scrounge little bits of meat from mostly a plate of bones.
We naturally complained about the soup to the young waiter who was serving us. He went back to the kitchen and returned offering us another serving of it, (without the salt I guess) which we declined right away. The chef did not have the decency to come out and discuss our complaint, so it was no point complaining about the lack of substance of the rabbit. To add insult to injury, we did see the chef going around other tables to enquire how their food was, but never came within distance of ours.
Anyway, when the bill came, we were charged 15 eur for each soup bringing that item to 60 eur for an uneatable concoction. They did give us a liquor on the house at the end.
This is a restaurant that could be much better if more attention to what guests have to say is given. As for myself, I would never go again.
