Vagh in Ufezzi In Bologna

Very small location. One cook (it appeared) and one server (appears to be owner). Owner gave great recommendations (in English) and the food was fantastic. There on weeknight and was able to walk in - Definitely has a local's vibe at times. Service will be slow, just accept it. It wasn't unfriendly or forgetful - but only one person for 7-10 tables has a limited speed it can run. Would absolutely eat here again.

A charming and intimate little place located in a quiet alleyway off Via Farini. The menu features a few carefully prepared courses and is served by attentive and friendly staff. In short: you walk in, take a seat, and immediately breathe in a bit of Bologna...

Food was excellent. The truffle pasta was unreal without being too heavy. Simple dishes done really well. An absolute gem!

Different handwritten menu daily of a small selection of local dishes. Owner patiently explained each dish to me in slow and simple Italian as she knew that my Italian wasn’t good. Food cooked by a mother daughter pair. I had the tortelloni in butter and sage, which was done so well and had shavings of this spicy pungent cheese that was delicious. I also had the chicken prepared alla diavola (pressed and grilled, seasoned with spices and herbs) which was juicy and smoky and delicious, pairs well with the roasted sweet potatoes that were not too mushy and had a great mouthfeel. Ended the meal with a slice of local desert pinza bolognese with a filling of delicious mostarda bolognese. If you want to walk in, you should show up at their opening for weekday lunch so as to secure a table as it gets quite popular with the locals living around later on.

Nice place. For casual dining with friends or family. The service was fantastic, and the waitress was very kind! The food was good.

Best meal in Bologna. Best meal in a long time. Might be a top 10 in my life. The family is down to earth and so pleasant. I loved the whole experience and would go again the next time I’m in bologna. Make a reservation though.

Truly delicious, authentic dishes unlike most Bolognese restaurants. The owners were very friendly; we felt at home and will definitely be back!

Our tour guide (who’s also a chef!) recommended this spot and even joined us for dinner—and wow, what an experience. This cozy, tucked-away restaurant feels like a hidden gem. Antonella, the owner, is welcoming, kind, and impressively hands-on. The menu changes daily and is simply posted on paper on the wall as you walk in, which adds to the charm. Every dish we ordered was absolutely delicious. A must-try if you’re in the area!

It's rare that a restaurant this well known lives up to it's reputation, but this place absolutely does. They serve up great traditional local food without repeating all the same plates as every other restaurant, and with genuine friendly service and a homey atmosphere that makes everyone feel welcome. Especially outstanding on our visit were the balanzoni and the grilled mackerel with cabbage, but we also loved the garganelli, the salumi with crescentine and the cheese plate. Reserve well in advance!!

We were in Bologna for the Radiohead concert, and since everything in the city center was packed, we found a table almost by chance at this little restaurant... and I'd say we were truly lucky! The atmosphere is familiar and welcoming, making you feel immediately at home. The menu isn't extensive, but the dishes are small and well-made, with fresh ingredients and authentic flavors. The service was also kind, friendly, and attentive, without ever being intrusive. A simple place with a lot of heart, perfect for a quiet lunch. If we return to Bologna, we'll definitely be back!
