We ate at Antica Bodega and it was good, but it's totally slow food. We waited an hour for a charcuterie board and pasta. We skipped dessert so we wouldn't have to wait any longer; it was a bit frustrating. The Mercato isn't bad, although the bathroom is a bit chaotic. In the restaurant, they tell you to go upstairs to use the bathroom, and when you go, they tell you you can't go in and to go to the ones in the square.

It makes sense to go on weekdays and before 2 o'clock so you can eat mixed homemade fresh pasta and do some shopping.

Modena's covered market is very special. It offers many local specialties. We stopped there specifically to pick up a nice piece of parmesan, but you can also enjoy a delicious aperitivo and find ready-made dishes to take away or tortellini, as well as a greengrocer's...in short, it's worth a visit.

La Vecchia Locanda Zita

13/08/2025: We stayed in a brand-new, independent annex, with an oversized double bed and a bathroom with a spectacular shower. The highlight: the food! We've completely forgotten about mushrooms! Everything is fresh and well-cooked. The added bonus is the half-board option with an à la carte menu. Highly recommended, despite the somewhat isolated location in a cul-de-sac village just a few kilometers from Sestola. I forgot: dogs are truly welcome, everywhere on the property!
12/08/2025: Went for lunch today and the food was as expected, given that it's a renowned restaurant in the Apennines, but if you want a recommendation, skip the coffee.
