Surprise! While wandering the winding streets of Palermo, between sun and clouds, we came across this alkaline place teeming with people. There must have been a reason. The food was spectacular. We'll be back soon, hungrier and more organized.

The restaurant has been renovated, and the old-fashioned pizza is delicious, even in the ricotta version.
I was amazed by some things that seemed to stand still, like the bill written in pen on a piece of paper.

Actually my first and the best cannolo!! Pasta was good but sauce was a little bit thin. Great place for short break while mountain ride ☺️

Zu Caliddo has been an institution for decades; I've been going there since I was in high school. The quality of the ingredients is excellent: meat, sauces, brociolone, ragù, ricotta, caponata, faccia di vecchia, sfincione, cannoli... Everything is delicious and fresh. The wine is genuine, and the service is spartan but cheerful. Next door is a shop selling local products, including cheeses, cured meats, and excellent baked goods. In short, everything is top-notch. After 25 years, I'm still coming back, and I'll continue to do so until death do us part. 😂💞
