Rode our bikes to this truck last Thursday, we were staying on the mainland and came over on the ferry in the morning. Got there rather hot and dusty, were glad of a beer and the menu looked amazing. I have to say that the food was probably the best we had in the whole trip, the tuna was incredible, their bread is AMAZING, the Bue Marino roll with tomatoes, capers and agrodolce was off the charts. But what happened next was one of the most impressive and ‘restoring of faith in mankind’ things that had ever happened to me. As we were getting off our ferry to Trapani at 3:45, I realised that I didn’t have my wallet, containing cash, bank cards, my driving licence etc. the truck was the last place I had used it. We got back to our hotel, The Baglio Oneto Luisa on reception called the trucks main restaurant in Favignana town. I had no hope that I would ever see the wallet again and it was truly a very long shot that it would be found. Not only had someone already found it, they had brought it across the island to the restaurant and arranged for it to be put on the ferry to Marsala later that afternoon. At 7pm, the captain of the Liberty Lines ferry handed it back to me, and was rather offended at my insistence of something as a gesture of thanks and waved me away laughing. Such decency, willingness to help and honesty is unfortunately rare in this world and I was honestly rather emotional at everyone’s help. Thank you a million times over and I will be back for your INCREDIBLE TUNA!
