02/03/2025: Recommended by the hostess of the b&b where we were staying for a weekend in Monopoli, we went there for lunch. Exceptional quality/cost! It is a diner with a large lounge, there is no table service. Dishes that range 360 degrees, including first courses, salads, pizzas and second courses, both land and sea. The thing I appreciated among others is that the dishes are served by "weight" so you can choose how much to eat. We had a seafood salad (octopus, very fresh shrimp and vegetables), two portions of white orecchiette with meat (delicious), a portion of delicious octopus with tomato. All accompanied by half a liter of loose house pink wine, nice and cold (I like it that way even if it's not for a sommelier) and a bottled Coke. All for €32! Really highly recommended!!
26/02/2025: I only write positive reviews by choice: there are already too many haters around! I like to share pleasant experiences to spread positivity and convey my happiness, to those who know me and those who don't. Anyone who wants to follow me will not be disappointed!
Let's get to the point.
This diner struck me with its excellent value for money. Also deriving from the fact that the portions are valued according to their weight. And for me this is a very important aspect. How many of you will have ordered food not completely hungry leaving leftovers on your plate. Or how many of you have found yourself in catering establishments where mega-large portions are served. Not to mention diets...Well, in this case you have the freedom to eat in the quantities you want, avoiding the waste typical of our civilizations.
But it's not just a question of prices.
The quality is remarkable. I focused on some starters and took several types just to compare them. I can say with extreme honesty that the rest of their dishes will also be worth tasting.
I had worried (in the end without reason) about the wines. I am a "Rossi" drinker although, having taken a basic wine (and cooking) course, I recognize that pairings are important. It was served to me at fridge temperature (alas, some customers are inclined to commit this atrocity) :-). Tommaso was quick to bring me a glass at room temperature, pointing out that there is an assortment of reds and more. Also good at elegantly escaping my "logorrhea" :-)
I hope to return as soon as possible to enjoy the rest at spectacular prices.
I gave the location 4 stars only for the fact that if you want to eat while also worrying about the surrounding area, well, then you need to go elsewhere. But this is a "Tavola Calda" and the exaggerated dimensions of the room also offer the possibility of not perceiving confusion with the crowded room.
