We decided to eat here after a lovely stroll around San Paolo. We ordered a plate of pasta alla matriciana, a plate of pasta with oxtail sauce, two glasses of wine, and a portion of coratella. The quality was truly top-notch, the flavor was incredible, and the portions were more than adequate. The young woman who welcomed us was truly lovely and welcoming… for me, that makes all the difference!
As a Roman, I know this is an institution, but I found the prices a bit high… but if this is the experience, I'm happy I spent what I did!
Highly recommended!

Roman cuisine, especially Quinto Quarto. Excellent food, great wine selection. Service a bit slow.

It's a true journey through Roman gastronomic culture. The staff was excellent, and the food even more so. Highly recommended.

A well-known restaurant in the Roman trattoria scene.
I've been wanting to try it for a while, and finally I had the right opportunity.
I give it 4 stars for the overall experience, and after sampling several dishes, I'll also give it those of the other diners, because if I were to evaluate only my own choices, I'd give it 3 stars.
The restaurant is simple but clean, welcoming, and adequate for the culinary offerings.
The service was efficient and timely.
The chicory appetizer was good but not memorable; the oxtail stew was excellent; the tripe served plain was also very tasty.
Among the appetizers, I didn't find a balance between portions and price; the chicory at 10 euros seemed truly overpriced, as did the tripe at 15 euros, served in 9 small pieces, which was inappropriate.
The oxtail was 22 euros, but still a good portion.
Next, the amatriciana was decent, although the tomato sauce was a bit acidic and the crispy bacon was undercooked in some pieces.
I didn't like the cannelloni with stew. The filling tasted good but wasn't tasty. They were dry and unappetizing, a shame considering the work that went into it.
The desserts were unremarkable, both the crostata and the zuppa inglese.
Price without wine was €40 per person.
A good restaurant with a cuisine with varied flavors, but it didn't impress me.
I expected something more.

The food is incredible in this Neo Trattoria but the too cool for school attitude from the wait staff is a bit much. The wine list lacks depth and is laden with natural wines that don’t match the food. Overwhelming slow service makes it difficult to go back. If not for the food I would write this place off as a flash in the pan. Popular with locals in the know they are treated better than tourists.

Trecca is a go-to place for those seeking traditional Roman cuisine, reinterpreted with a modern twist. In addition to traditional first courses, the menu features authentic gems, especially appetizers and meat-based main courses, which creatively showcase the "fifth quarter" (or "quinto quarto"). Worth noting is the friendly service provided by the staff and, last but not least, the convenient parking nearby.
