I'm from Masone and I was used to the Stella Trattoria with typical cuisine... I found a STAR with a mix of refined typical cuisine and very interesting innovations... the mise en place and service performed by young but extremely up-to-the-minute girls, with the kitchen's indulgence in small whims-pampering, gave my parents in their nineties a sensational 65th wedding anniversary... THANK YOU

A great restaurant in a city considered the capital of the mushroom kingdom. First, the breaded porcini mushrooms, which were a complete surprise to me, mushroom pickers, as I'd always known them in this form, as I'd only ever seen kanes, or "owls" in Lesser Poland. Breaded porcini mushrooms taste wonderful. For my main course, I ordered the octopus pasta and wasn't disappointed either, as it was a very successful combination of various types of pasta in a delicate sauce with generous chunks of polpo. And the mojito for dessert—it was culinary heaven (a ball of thin mint chocolate held cream, accompanied by lime sorbet). The selection of Italian wines was excellent, with my favorite Gewürtzraminer at the forefront, but also an excellent Vermentino.

A wonderful discovery. From the outside, it looks like a village bar, but once inside, you'll find a modern establishment with good wines and refined, delicious dishes. Cannelloni with guinea fowl ragù is top-notch, and the rabbit is superb. Pasta with shelled sea snails and delicious raw ham. Four glasses of wine.

Vegia Òstàia Da o Pöulu

04/10/2025: Last Wednesday, we dined at this charming trattoria, located directly across from the Genova Costa train station in Sestri Ponente. It was featured in the latest edition of Alessandro Borghese's Quattro Ristoranti, a special dedicated to the best restaurants with fresh pasta workshops. The location is simple, but with a beautiful summer terrace surrounded by greenery. It offers simple cuisine, but with an excellent selection of ingredients. The wine list is very interesting, with excellent value, including an excellent Grillo Vigne di Mandrianova 2022 from the Alessandro di Camporeale winery in Camporeale (PA), which paired perfectly with the dishes. We first shared the mixed antipasto, including freshly made farinata, sardenaira, brandacujuïn, and marinated anchovies. We then continued, each choosing the tagliatelle verde al ragù bianco (onion, carrot, and meat) as our first course, which was truly excellent. For main courses, we had Ligurian-style rabbit and braised beef in Nizza, served with baked potatoes. Both dishes were delicious! Finally, the desserts, both homemade and incredibly simple, included a panna cotta with rose syrup and a light lemon cake. A glass of water and two coffees rounded out a truly delicious dinner, bringing the bill to €95 for two, which is extremely reasonable considering the quality of the dishes we enjoyed. It goes without saying that this place is highly recommended; we can't wait to return! Bravo!
