Trattoria San Giovanni In Gela

Exceptional, for work I travel a bit all over Italy and I have never eaten such good meat. The horse fillet was very soft. The appetizer was equally good and really abundant! The service was excellent. Congratulations! I had a great time!

Good food and typical Sicilian dishes. In a neighborhood in the historic center of Gela. The restaurant has 3 rooms: the ground floor, the first floor and the outside area. It's very pleasant to eat outside, it's a shame there's a dilapidated building in sight, I hope it gets fixed because the neighborhood is very nice. The ground floor has a pleasant and rustic environment even if chaotic (having a bar and cash register there too), the first floor with bricks and beautiful paintings, reminiscent of Sicily, is nice but when it's full it's unfortunately a bit claustrophobic because of the low roof. Exquisite, typical and tasty dishes. I recommend the appetizer and the tagliata. Friendly waitress and bartender. Excellent quality of raw materials. Highly recommended

On our motorcycle tour around Sicily, tired and exhausted, we came across this place that is nothing short of exceptional. Excellent food but also the service, the bill and the friendliness of the staff. Super happy and recommended!

I had the pleasure of dining at Trattoria San Giovanni and the experience was excellent in every respect. From the first moment you can feel a welcoming, familiar atmosphere, with friendly and attentive but never intrusive service. The staff is knowledgeable and available to recommend dishes and pairings, which made the evening even more pleasant. The meal began with a varied appetizer, full of delicious options ranging from quality cured meats, local cheeses and other local specialties: every taste was a discovery. The pasta was tasty and well seasoned, with genuine sauces that recall traditional cuisine but with a touch of personality. The real highlight, however, were the cuts of meat: tender, tasty and perfectly cooked. You can perceive the quality of the raw materials and the care taken in preparation. From the mixed grill to the finest cuts, each dish lived up to expectations. The portions are generous, which makes the quality-price ratio even more interesting. It is the classic place where you leave satisfied, both for your palate and for the relaxed and authentic atmosphere. I highly recommend Trattoria San Giovanni to anyone looking for genuine cuisine, plentiful and full of flavour, in an environment that makes you feel at home. I will definitely return, perhaps with friends, to share another wonderful gastronomic experience.

Yes, the beef was cooked perfectly. The salad with fried chicken, apple slices, roasted almonds and peanuts as well as rocket was very tasty.

The pasta portions were quite generous and extremely well cooked. I had the pasta with pistacchio and speck (wonderful). My son had cavate in Sicilian ragú, my daughter had spaghettoni with pesto, tomato sauce and breadcrumbs, and my wife had pasta alla Norma. All the dishes were well cooked and tastefully presented in their own metal pan. I really recommend this little Trattoria in the heart of Gela. Bravissimi!

Bellissima scoperta. Locale accogliente, pulito, ordinato. Personale professionale, premuroso, accogliente ha offerto ottimo servizio. Eravamo con il nostro cane e subito si sono offerti predisporre ciotola con acqua. Abbiamo preso diversi antipasti uno più gustoso dell'altro che spaziavano dai salumi, affettati, formaggi, alle verdura e legumi. I primi gustosi, pasta ottima al dente, ben condita e porzioni abbondanti. Ci siamo fermati.. Oltre non saremmo riusciti a mangiare. Torneremo e consigliamo fermarvi per apprezzare anche voi
