When I'm in San Cataldo, I regularly visit the NEW YORK bar/rosticceria, and it never disappoints. For those who love the delicacies of San Cataldo, here you'll find arancini (rice and ragù, top marks!) and truly excellent rosticceria. Breakfast is a highlight for a hearty breakfast; their croissants filled in every way are unbeatable! Rich in fillings, with an incredible variety. Special praise goes to the staff: a young, kind, and very friendly team who always make you feel welcome. A place that invites you to return!

Excellent bar/restaurant, a historic meeting place where you can sample typical Sicilian and local products. A bar where you can try arancini/e (to avoid parochial feuds) and some of the best spaghetti in San Cataldo, made according to tradition. It's become a must-see whenever you're passing through the city.

I'd bought it a while ago and wasn't thrilled with it. So I wanted to try it again.
And here it is, the San Cataldese arancina (Palermo version). A rice ball weighing almost 300 grams, well-made, but soaked in oil and with only a hint of filling.
The grains were loose and clearly visible, the flavor of the dough tasted of butter and saffron, but the filling, consisting of a little gooey sauce with a few peas, cream cheese, and a hint of minced meat, was an insult to the traditional recipe.
And what about the wrapping paper without any separator sheet to prevent direct contact with the arancini?
Small details, certainly, but they speak volumes about an archaic system that, unfortunately, is common practice in the restaurants of San Cataldo.
Finally, the price of €2.50, which, given the quality of the product offered, is decidedly expensive.
