A typical Roman restaurant, now somewhat famous but with a familiar style. Generous portions.

A noisy disappointment, inadequate staff, good fried starters, not exceptional, terrible parmigiana, I asked for the strong one, they never brought it, I had the starter after the starter, I asked for the dessert, it never arrived...

Authentic Roman cuisine, faithful to the trattorias of yesteryear.
Dishes prepared with technique and respect for tradition, far removed from passing fads.

Authentic Roman cuisine. The oxtail stew was excellent. It would have been even better with a little more of it. The ambiance and dining room are worthy of Rome's beauty. The service leaves something to be desired, but they are certainly honest workers.

Perilli is one of those places that reminds you why Rome still knows how to be Rome. The cuisine is straightforward, precise, and unfussy: textbook carbonara and amatriciana, with top-quality ingredients and a confident touch that never betrays tradition. The main courses follow the same path: full flavors, perfectly cooked, and generous portions, as you'd expect from a historic trattoria.
The service is quick, direct, and professional—that blend of efficiency and Roman-ness that's as much a part of the experience as the dishes themselves. The atmosphere retains the soul of the neighborhood: simple, authentic, and unpretentious.
For those seeking authentic Roman cuisine, without compromise or passing fads, Perilli remains a solid reference. A sure bet in Testaccio.

Always a guarantee: perhaps the last truly historic restaurant in Testaccio. Exceptional puntarelle, delicious rabbit cacciatore, superb sautéed chicory, and so much more.
The staff is incredibly friendly and the service excellent. Try it again and again.

What a wonderful traditional restaurant serving roman specialties.
We ordered pasta alla Gricia, REAL carbonara and amatricana.
The aroma and cottura of the pasta was just perfect !
Afterwards we had saltimbocca, carciofi fritti and the parmigiana. Again, so tasty. We couldn't get enough so we took the fresh sabayon to finish off our meal.
All this was accompanied with a beautiful vermentino white wine.
Whenever we visit Rome again, perilli will be our first stop.

A prestigious, historic venue, good-quality, well-prepared food, old-school service, and a slightly crowded atmosphere.

The carbonara, matriciana, and cacio e pepe were top notch! Not to mention the tiramisu. The staff were very friendly, and they even offered the kid a scoop of ice cream. Highly recommended!
