Trattoria Pallotta In Assisi

A fairly well-known trattoria in the center of Assisi. The atmosphere is very warm and welcoming. However, I can't say I had an excellent meal or that I was served like a gentleman; let's just say it was average. The strangozzi with truffles was bland and tasted very little like truffle. The salt that was missing from the strangozzi was in the rabbit cacciatore, which was almost unbearably salty. But what most influenced my rating was the response of the dark-haired waitress with glasses. When asked if there was any wine off the menu (which needs revising...), she replied: "If you don't like anything, drink water!" This response would have meant I should have given a 0, but I don't want to disparage or belittle the work of my colleagues in the dining room and kitchen, nor the hostess who was always courteous and kind. You just need to be more careful when speaking to customers.

A real discovery. A place to savor authentic and genuine products served by exquisite, kind, and friendly staff. Excellent ingredients, prepared with love and dedication, respecting tradition. The dining room is warm and welcoming, with tables well-arranged and not too close together. The pigeon is one of the best I've ever eaten. Highly recommended!!!

I'm writing this review with a hint of emotion. You were the perfect setting for a memorable day that saw us at the foot of the remains of St. Francis. You made every effort to make your guests feel at ease, and the food was delicious, unlike anything I've ever tasted in my life. I won't be returning to Assisi without coming back to you. ♥️

Over the years, I have had very mixed experiences in this restaurant. Overall, the food is pretty nice, though the wait is always very long. Dont go there if you are in a hurry. Also staff could be a little nicer/ sympathetic when refusing customers without bookings. Maybe they feel they don’t have to make an effort because they are mentioned in every guidebook and their address is very central? In any case, there are better restaurants in Assisi and you may get a better welcome elsewhere so do keep that in mind.

Decent food compared to other places in Assisi or the area. Friendly staff, but I have to judge based on experience: we ordered two first courses and two second courses. The first courses arrived, and without asking, they told us the side dishes would be arriving shortly. Neither the side dishes nor the second courses arrived. And they gave us no discount. I repeat: friendly, but a disappointing experience.
