We had high expectations for this historic trattoria, but unfortunately, they were somewhat dashed. On Saturday, we arrived at 1:00 PM for lunch, and there were two tables set for 40 or 50 people. Apparently, we were the first to order. The appetizers were very good, especially the pear and gorgonzola, which gave us anticipation for what was to come. A 1.9 kg Florentine steak for three arrived cold and already visibly overcooked. We pointed out that it was cold, and the waiter took it back to the kitchen, arriving shortly afterward. That divine meat, which had rightly been served raw at the table, was now inedible. It's clear something went wrong: we don't know if it was left too long or if the heat was low, thus not yet ready. It should be noted, however, that I ordered the fillet, and it was perfectly cooked.
We dig into the side dishes, which were delicious: fried artichokes and sautéed vegetables. For dessert, we ordered chocolate and rum and a cake of the day (I don't remember which one). The waiter showed up with rum and nougat, saying he'd brought this "which is even better." Well, rum and nougat isn't exactly what we ordered, and the waiter, instead of foisting this on us, should have warned us first, saying he didn't have dark chocolate and given us the option to order something else.
A final note on the price: quite high, but clearly in line with the context (€360).
So, not a lunch we'll remember, but rather a steak we'll forget. A great shame.

The location could use a bit of a refresh (but maybe that's intentional)!
Let's move on to the food: we had starters (pretty good), a steak for four (delicious), and desserts (nothing special).
My overall rating isn't entirely positive because the prices are, in my opinion, too high: there's no starter under €16, and desserts start at €9. Too much, too much, too much!

TOP birthday party at this traditional trattoria! The atmosphere was quaint and the food was delicious. It was a birthday party, so we shared appetizers, main courses, side dishes, and finally dessert; house wine. The steak was amazing!
The waiter was helpful and very friendly: he had taken us to heart.
Everyone was satisfied and happy to have had a wonderful evening.
We'll definitely be back! Thank you 🥰
Go Viola!

One of the best places to eat meat in Florence. The fried food and first courses are equally excellent. Reservations recommended.

A very charming trattoria located in Florence's Pian dei Giullari, not far from Piazzale Michelangelo. I recommend arriving by car, although there's limited parking in the area. Most parking is on the street, unattended, so be aware of any restrictions. The menu features a varied selection of traditional Tuscan dishes, including steak, tagliata, local pasta dishes, and plenty of desserts. I tried the tagliata with porcini mushrooms, naturally rare, and the sautéed spinach. Not bad. Prices are high, normal for Florence. Friendly staff.

Very good food, attentive and welcoming service, historic setting in a top-notch neighborhood. The last star is missing due to the somewhat high prices.

A bit far away from Florence yet the trip is worth it.
The roasted rabbit was superb, and the fried artichokes were magnificent.
