A good lunch, in a welcoming place

This is a place I trusted, and it not only lived up to my expectations, but exceeded my every expectation. ​I'll start with the Pallotte Cacio e Ove, a true symbol of our region. Unfortunately, few know how to make them truly well, and Nonno Liborio is among those excellent interpreters. The sauce is expertly crafted, and the cheese is perfectly flavorful. ​We continued by tasting the Formaggio di Farindola, carefully presented and enriched with some unique details that pleasantly surprised us. ​Special praise goes to the Pecora alla Callara, with its unique softness. ​Finally, we enjoyed two exquisite first courses that I prefer not to reveal, but which I highly recommend you try. ​Everything is cooked with great passion and served with a kindness that makes you feel immediately at home. Alessandra is a superb host who elevates Abruzzo's tradition.

We made a special trip here for lunch because a lady at a winery in Penne suggested we come to this particular village if we like lamb. No menu, which is fine, we like this sort of thing. The lady who I pressume is the owner suggested antipasti and grilled lamb for 2. Sounded like a great idea, along with a 1/2 litre of local wine and a bottle of water. The flavour of the grilled lamb was very nice. The total bill was €54. Is this expensive? I thought so, but maybe it isn't.

This historic restaurant doesn't have arrosticini, but it offers excellent, high-quality dishes. The ricotta ravioli with tomato sauce are fantastic...

A true example of a historic trattoria where the dishes combine tradition and quality: The legendary pasta alla molinara is especially noteworthy! Plentiful, high-quality hot and cold appetizers, and the meat is excellent. Extremely friendly and helpful staff! A must-see in the area, especially after a lovely walk in the Voltigno area. ⛰️
