A luxury trattoria. Perhaps the terms contradict each other.

The food is very good; the prices are quite high (definitely high for the Langhe region), but justified by the undeniable quality of all the dishes we ordered. If I could, I'd give it a 4.5; I'm giving it a 4 because we waited way too long. Two courses took 1 hour and 20 minutes. I imagine and hope it was an accident (also considering the numerous apologies from the very kind waitress).

I review the restaurant. We went to Marsupino to celebrate a special event and we had a great time. We chose a truly excellent tasting menu, accompanied by excellent local wines and also by a very popular Sicilian label. Each dish was taken care of in detail, well presented and with an impeccable taste. The ravioli with nettles and the nougat semifreddo were delicious. The service was very kind: they welcomed us with a smile and made us feel truly at home. The place is elegant, refined and perfect for special occasions. It was a beautiful evening, compliments to all the staff! We will definitely be back.

Monday in Alba and the best clubs in the city closed. About 40 minutes from the capital of the Langhe, in the midst of hills of vines and hazelnut groves, a tiny, well-kept village at the center of which is this structure which has been dedicated to the refreshment of travellers, since 1901. The restaurant is mentioned by the red Michelin, but still has no star. Without a reservation we are warmly welcomed and seated in a room with a few tables and, given the time, we leave the chef and the sommelier free rein to let us discover their delicacies. A succession of 6 well-harmonised courses of local dishes served gracefully by the attentive dining room staff. Cost below expectations and could easily aspire to a star. Definitely worth returning, perhaps in autumn for the wine and the famous tuber of the area. Well done!!

On Saturday 26 April I had the pleasure of having dinner at Trattoria Marsupino in Briaglia. Even though we were staying in another area (Vicoforte), on the recommendation of the same hotel we decided to try this restaurant for dinner and we were really excited about it. The restaurant, run by the same family since 1901, offers a welcoming atmosphere that mixes tradition and attention to detail. The service was impeccable: courteous, professional and always attentive, without ever appearing intrusive. Piedmontese courtesy, in this context, is truly among the best I have ever encountered in Italy. We started with appetizers that highlighted the local flavors, followed by well-balanced first courses. The second course, a tender and tasty goat, was undoubtedly delicious. We accompanied the meal with a Piedmontese rose wine recommended by the sommelier, which proved to be a fresh and balanced choice. The desserts concluded the dinner in a memorable way: a Relanghe nougat semifreddo with Marsala zabaglione prepared in a bain-marie, and a 70% dark chocolate cake with ice cream. Both desserts were expertly prepared and were a perfect end to our meal. In summary, Marsupino offers an authentic and refined culinary experience, where the quality of the food is combined with a high level of service. It is a place where tradition and customer care come together impeccably. We will definitely be back!

Location molto suggestiva e curata nel centro del paese. All’interno si respira anche l’atmosfera dei primi del novecento per arredamento e per il bellissimo soffitto (originale?). Scelto il menù da 65 euro (l’alternativa era la carta o il menù da 4 portate a 45 euro), che prevedeva piatti scelti a sorpresa dallo chef. Siamo rimasti piacevolmente stupiti dalla cura dei piatti e dal sapiente mix di ingredienti. Tanto raffinati gli antipasti quanto golosi i primi e deciso di sapore il secondo. Lo staff di sala si è dimostrato molto preparato e cordiale. Prezzo coerente con la qualità. Molto consigliato!

Beautiful place, excellent service, very qualified staff, and the food is too good, everything delicious.

We stopped on our way back from the mountains with two overtired two years old. They took us in and immediately set up a comfortable space for us and the girls. Thanks to the staff's patience and swift service, we were able to enjoy a full meal as we hadn't been able to do in a long time, and what meal! from The home made grissini to the finely flavored desserts, this place serves excellent traditional cuisine with a tasteful modern twist that enhances and never overpowers the taste of carefully selected ingredients. A must try in the area!
