Wonderful experience! If you want to experience true Tuscan conviviality and food then this is the perfect place. The environment is rustic and clean, the staff is friendly and super helpful; the food is delicious, there is a vast choice of first courses, second courses and side dishes... in addition to the inevitable Florentine steak, which must be strictly rare! Very honest prices, for being in the center of Florence! Dispassionate advice... try their fries and their meat sauce!

Lucky to get a table immediately as a walkin lolll. Loved the chef owner chopping steak in the kitchen 😂😂. Wish we had ordered their rissoto 🥹

Mario is a true Florentine gem! One of the few places that still do it right in Florence and I go everytime I am back home. Even after almost 20 years of eating there its like the first time. A real florentine experience. Just listen to them and don't be a snob! Grazie mille e Forza Viola!

We really enjoyed the dining experience at Trattoria Mario. The servers are really friendly and helped to guide how much meat to order. The star of the dinner is obviously the biscetta steak and heavenly good. Advance reservation is a must here. No chance of walk-in.

Overall, this place was nice, but for me, it needs a little work. We had the french onion soup and oeuf mayonnaise. I think the food is picturesque and visually appealing but lacks in flavor. Visually, our French Onion soup looked amazing, so when we actually ate it, we were disappointed in how less than average it was. You do need a reservation, they did allow us to eat here but with the warning that at 7 pm those with reservations would come and so we may be asked to leave, we still accepted because of the positive reviews. The concept of the restaurant is sweet, you can write letters at the end of your meal and choose to send it a loved one and it will be mailed the next year in the month of your choosing. The atmosphere and service was good, but the food just needs a little more work.

Came from Verona to visit Florence combined with a Jova concert. Three days. Recommended by a Firenzuolo to come here to eat. Excellent experience. Fiorentina fillet like butter. Friendly staff, welcomed like relatives arriving from abroad. We'll be back with the whole family! Tooooop

La mia ragazza ha prenotato il ristorante con un anticipo di un mese e a momenti non trovava posto. Siamo stati in questo locale vincitore di una puntata di 4 ristoranti con Borghese. A mio avviso la vittoria è più che meritata. Anche se l'ambiente è un pò spartano, tuttavia tipico delle trattorie cittadine fiorentine, risulterà imbattibile la qualità della cucina, la cortesia del personale di sala e anche il conto. Se volete immergervi nella realtà fiorentina questo locale è tappa obbligata. Continuate così!

La storia della cucina toscana, se vuoi mangiare una fiorentina vera e buonissima in vero stile fiorentino devi venire qui! si mangia benissimo ogni altra portata del menu, esiste ancora la condivisione dei tavoli che secondo me è cosa fantastica…. andate per credere!
