Crazy busy local trattoria with amazing meat. Florentine steak is fabulous. Book in advance otherwise you’ll be disappointed

Exceptional. The food is typical homemade, the quality is excellent. I recommend the Florentine steak; but don't ask for it well done or any other type of cooking, trust them you won't regret it, it's hot and above all soft and tender inside, not at all rubbery. The staff is super friendly and helpful, the kitchen staff is friendly and good at advising. It will certainly be a fixed stop in Florence whenever there is an opportunity. Booking in advance is recommended.

Fast and precise service, excellent meat and potatoes

We ate at this trattoria and it was a pleasant surprise. Lots of atmosphere, ideal if you want something with personality. The service was fast and very attentive. The meat was excellent, juicy and just right. The pappardelle al dente, as they should be, with a delicious Ragu sauce. All at a more than reasonable price. Italian, Florentine cuisine (pun intended) Without a doubt, a place to which we would be delighted to return.

If you want to eat where the locals do, Trattoria Mario is a must. It’s busy, boisterous, and packed with energy. We had to wait about 20 minutes, but it was totally worth it. The space is tight – communal tables, handwritten menus, and servers who know every dish by heart. I ordered the ribollita, a traditional Tuscan vegetable soup, and my friend got the Florentine steak. Both were incredible. The ribollita was hearty and full of flavor, and the steak? Cooked to perfection – rare, juicy, and massive. You can tell this place hasn’t changed in years, and that’s what makes it great. It’s also one of the most affordable sit-down meals we had – under €30 each with wine. The staff were fast-paced but kind, always ready to help. The place closes early (lunch only), so plan ahead. This isn’t a polished, Instagrammable spot – it’s a genuine piece of Florence, loud and delicious. A real highlight of our trip.

Trattoria Mario, a fairytale Florentine restaurant in a welcoming place with special prices. What can I say, if you want to eat a Florentine steak you can't help but stop here!

This is a nice place for dinner. The music is relaxed and romantic. The service is very good. We had steaks that we enjoyed. The wine was fine. The music and vibe drew us to this restaurant.

Trattoria abbastanza basica a Firenze. Locale spartano, ma buoni gli antipasti e la carne. Personale gentile. Prezzi in linea con gli altri ristoranti nei dintorni

La storia della cucina toscana, se vuoi mangiare una fiorentina vera e buonissima in vero stile fiorentino devi venire qui! si mangia benissimo ogni altra portata del menu, esiste ancora la condivisione dei tavoli che secondo me è cosa fantastica…. andate per credere!
