We arrived in Faenza and, searching for "typical Faenza food," Marianaza was the first place we found... and I must say, it was an excellent choice! We were truly delighted.
We started with a cured meats appetizer with piadina, then we also had a piadina with squacquerone cheese and arugula (super good and simple, just how I like it). I chose the grilled vegetables, while he chose the mutton rib: both were excellent, well-cooked and flavorful.
To finish, we shared a cocoa cake with their homemade jam, truly delicious.
Recommended if you want to eat traditional food and leave satisfied!

Marianaza Tradizionale is one of those places that make a difference in Faenza. As soon as you enter, you realize you're not in a haphazardly constructed restaurant, but in a genuine, warm, and welcoming place, where tradition isn't just a marketing buzzword, but a daily practice.
The atmosphere is familiar and relaxed, immediately putting you at ease. Simple tables, a refined, unostentatious setting, that sense of home that's increasingly rare these days.
The food is the real star. Excellent cured meats, warm bread, recognizable ingredients treated with respect. Each dish clearly speaks of Romagna and Faenza, without forced reinterpretations or unnecessary modernisms. Here, you eat as you've always eaten, and that's precisely its strength.
The desserts round out the experience perfectly: delicious, intense, and made to perfection. No gimmicks, just substance.
In short, Marianaza Tradizionale is a true culinary immersion in Faenza's tradition. An authentic, sincere place, where you'll gladly return because you know what you'll find. And you know it's going to be good.

I was there on my own but felt very comfortable being there. The food, service and atmosphere is great. Cooking is done on a wood fire.

The place is special, the food is divine.
It feels like stepping back in time; perhaps some of the dining room details could be recreated without detracting from the restaurant's charm.
The open fireplace where the meat is cooked is the highlight that makes this trattoria unmissable.
I think I've eaten the best mutton in history at this restaurant, although it would have been enough to just stop at the appetizer, which was plentiful and of high quality.
